Below are some over/under topics to consider for this weekend's race at Talladega:

1)Danica Patrick's finish: 15th
2)Laps Denny Hamlin will be in the car: 20
3)Lead changes: 50
4)Number of cautions: 6

Here are my guesses:
1) Under. I know that Danica is good on the big tracks and finished 8th at Daytona, but I'll go with the odds and say she finishes worse than 15th at Talladega.
2) Over. Unless there's an early caution, I think DH will be in the car more than 20 laps.
3) Under. There were 54 lead changes at Talladega last October, but I don't know if we'll see that out of the Gen-6, kind of an unknown at this point.
4) Over. Just a hunch on this one, nothing really to base it on.

Thoughts?

Under, got a feeling she may be in the big one.
Over, I can see him being in the car up to 75 laps.
Under, don't think there will be as little action as the 500 but there won't be a whole lot.
Over, but not by much. Maybe 7-8 cautions?

Danica and Hornish in the Nationwide and her ol buddy David Gilliland will be racing in cup race. There is a wreck there somewhere, if she goes to sawing on the wheel, got to be smooth.
Worse..crippled car
Under-he will bail under 20
over on passes
over on cautions

My predictions:
1)Danica Patrick's finish: 15th Under (Worse than)
2)Laps Denny Hamlin will be in the car: 20 Under
3)Lead changes: 50 Well Under
4)Number of cautions: 6 Over

1) I have to go with 'over', since I'm considering her in one of my fantasy leagues.
2) Over. I don't think they'll see a caution that early. Plus, this morning's paper said he feels good in the car but that getting in and out is uncomfortable.
3) Under.
4) Over.
5) When NASCAR announces the race will postponed until Monday due to rain: 4:15. Over.
I'm only interested if someone gets UNDER somebody's rear bumper and sends them OVER the catch fence.
Thanks. I learned a lot from your post.

1)Danica Patrick's finish: 15th -Under. I think Daytona was great for her but she will not make it to the end of this one.

2)Laps Denny Hamlin will be in the car: 20 -Over, he ran 17 laps in practice. Said he will probably stay in it until he runs out of gas.

3)Lead changes: 50 -Under, while we may be in for a more exciting race than the 500. I think more like 20-30 lead changes (at the line)

4)Number of cautions: 6 -Over, IT'S DEGA BABY!! The drivers are now a lot more comfortable with the Gen 6 cars. Talladega is worn more than Daytona so handling will come into the picture a lot sooner which will most likely make for passing and 3-4 wide racing. Also.. did you guys see the opening 10 laps of first practice? This race is NOT going to be a snooze fest like Daytona was. And given this fact I assume it will be more often that people make mistakes. Also I have heard most drivers no longer are using the "ride at the back" strategy we have seen from drivers in the past(except Denny). With more people trying to mix it up at the front there will be less room to fight for position. Less room on track equals more possibility of a mistake being made.

Danica - top5 hoping for a win :) how cool would that be
Denny - first caution, maybe under 20
Lead Changes - under 50
Cautions - under 6 - gonna be flossing my cats teeth through this one I think

I'm in Canada and we don't get anywhere near the coverage we used to get, how has the low line been looking in practice? Are they holding momentum on exit under another car? The daytona top line thing will be awful if it comes into play here. Oh and final question is the 48 bunch practising alone again?

It is Talladega not a crap shoot but the closes thing on the schedule. Danica no top 15, better at racing the track than the competition, the jockeying for spots will be difficult for her. More cautions will help her.

Hamlin probably less than 20. If they do not quailify they will probably get a competition caution early in the race. Nascar also may be worried about an injury from a crash and find some convenient debris.

I'm in Canada and I get all the coverage....? Anyway in practice the low line looks good but they were driving 4 wide right off the bat. The 48 was in the pack because everyone knew it was going to rain today so they wanted to put up a fast time in the first practice in case they have to set the field according to those times.
I think it will be a good race. I was not looking as forward to it as usual until I saw practice and saw the field slicin' and dicin' I think this will be a much better race than most people think. I'm sure that they will ride around for a bit but on restarts and at the finish I think it's going to be a free for all.

What you got for a TV provider? How do you get any of the ESPN Stuff? I have speed and TSN bout it, and quit frankly can't stand Pass time and Pimp my ride it's like some form of new Chinese torture.

I have Cogeco. I watch all the qualifying and practices on SPEED. Anything that is on ESPN is TSN for us. I also have TSN2 which is ESPN2 or ESPN news. Last week they said the Richmond NNS race was only on ESPN News because of football draft or something and I watched it on TSN 2. So yeah practice and qualifying(and truck races) on SPEED (Ch. 105)... Most NNS races on TSN2 (Ch. 156). Or TSN (Ch. 28).. And then of course Fox for cup races.

I'm with bell, but I seem to have all that you are saying,.just gotta tidy up my scheduling I guess. I am sure I was on speed all day yesterday looking for practices,...but like I said my mind wonders when all those stupid shows are on Speed, could of fell into a coma before practice. But man someone let me have one of those swamp buggies for a day, I live 300 miles south of Churchill, those things would kick ass on the tundra :)

Nice! Well cup qualifying is supposed to be on SPEED at noon eastern and the NNS race is on TSN 2 at 3pm.. but it's probably going to be rained out.

Good call on the competition caution. After watching Denny and Brian practice switching, I think the #11 will have to make two stops; one for the exchange, one for regular service. A competition caution will probably come at a time when they won't have to take a full fuel load, and they may just change right sides. Lefts held up pretty well in the ARCA race. (Yes, I know those are different tires.)
To verify, in my opinion it is a good thing.
I regard rubbin' as racin', but not wreckin'. To each his own.

I hope you're right, but don't take anything from practice! The racing at Daytona this year during practice and the Unlimited was great, but the 500 turned out to be the exact opposite. I'm expecting the same thing here.
