Peugeot's asphalt ace Gilles Panizzi says the ligaments he tore when he broke his collar bone in a domestic accident last month are well on the way to recovery and the Frenchman should be fit for the final tarmac round of the season, the Sanremo Rally.

Peugeot is confident Panizzi will be fit as it has already nominated him to score points on the Italian round which gets underway on 20 September, and Panizzi feels he just has build up the strength in his left arm to be ready

"I feel fine and I am positive," said Panizzi. "The ligaments are well. Now, I just have to work on my arm to get back to maximum force. I should take part in the tests the next week and we will see after the recce if I really am at 100% of my capacity."
