Is this kid not something amazing? 18 years old in ARCA, 6 starts, 6 top 10s(4 this year). 1st in the point standings.

Penske developmental driver, I would guess that he goes to the Nationwide next year(at least for a partial schedule) with Allgaier's likely jump to the Cup series.

I mean just wow.

Parker Kligerman's amazing. He's got a lot of talent, and nobody expected him to be this good right out of the gate.

Justin Lofton is going to be a competitor every week. He's got the talent. He's got the best equipment in all of ARCA. I wouldn't be surprised if Lofton wins 6 or 7 races this season. That said, the amount of experience as he's got and the equipment he's in, he should win every race.

Patrick Sheltra and Frank Kimmel have also set themselves up as championship contenders.

I'm also impressed with ole' Darrell Basham sittin' 11th in points! :beerbang: GIVE 'EM HELL, DARRELL! :whoopee:

I agree about Lofton. Surprised he isnt on a developmental deal(unless he is and I missed it).

So where do you see Kligerman next year...Camping World East or Nationwide(or mix of both)? Or running in the ARCA again is a possibility. With him and Allgaier Penske has kind of cornered the market on super talented young drivers lately.

I wish I could watch more ARCA, I have to follow it on their website.

Come to the track then.

Camping World East/West is a step down from ARCA - lots of inexperience. I'd like to see him in Nationwide next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes some Truck starts either.

Yeah, I've usually got to go to the races if I expect to see any of them.

My biggest gripe is the TV package. The only races they televise are on Thursdays and Fridays (one or two weekend races) and I simply can't watch them. The good races (Mansfield, Toledo, New Jersey, Springfield) aren't getting televised at all.

They stream some of the races live on arcanation.com and ustream.com, better than nothing.

The only races I can really go to are Gatway, DuQuoin, and Springfield. I am a poor college student after all.

*edit-I just realized they removed Mansfield from the CW Truck Series. What took it's place, Iowa?

Isn't Juston Lofton a relative to another driver? I coulda swear i remember another Lofton in racing?

Looks like we're going to have another round of up and comers in cup in 2 years...

Dillon and possibly Kligerman. I guess Jeffrey Earnhardt is a possibility as well. Allgaier next year most likely.

TRG could replace Gilliand with their CWTS driver J.R. Fitzpatrick soon as well(scaling back to a part time Cup team for a year or two and letting him spend that time in the Nationwide with a team like Jay Robinson Racing or Rensi/Hamilton while running a partial schedule in the #71).

There is another Lofton, i think in USAR. I doubt there is any relation though, at least i don't think he had Lofton Cattle on his car.

JR isnt even their truck driver anymore, he put out a press release saying they will only do a few more races due to lack of funding. I'm guessing he will be running the full Canadian Tire Series again, he was at Delaware this weekend for the Canadian Tire Series testing session.

I wouldnt be shocked to see Fitzpatrick land somewhere else. I never really thought about it, but the Truck series is probably hit especially hard by this economic climate. TRG is having all kinds of issues, I think that big deal they signed for the #71 with that TV show fell through too.

Don't forget:

Matt Merrell, James and Chris Buescher, Joey Coulter, Brian Silas, Brian Scott, Alli Owens, Sean Caisse, Brian Ickler.

The future of the sport is looking very bright.

I would add Ryan Truex to that list as well.

There are a few drivers I'm watching in the DC region as well - if they could get a development deal, I'd be interested in seeing what they could do.

time for a new commercial. how about Baby Guns? Young Guns already taken or do they become Old Guns with the new crop coming in as Young Guns?

If you take a look at the tracks he's raced on, you'd be more impressed:

New Jersey
Talladega
Salem
Rockingham

You can't get much more diverse than that.

I think I jinxed Kligerman as he raced his first non-top ten of his ARCA career and fell to 2nd in the points.

He was on his way to a top five right at the end, he was battling for 2nd and spun by himself causing the final caution.

It looked like there was contact from Lofton. Couldn't tell if Kligerman came up or Lofton came down or both, but they made contact when they were door to door.

Lofton and Buescher also made contact on the last lap which caused Lofton to lift and Buscher to go to victory lane.

Spike, they have (just about) the entire race on archive on the ARCA Video Network online.

Congrats on the first victory. Gained very little ground in the points though as Justin Lofton finished 2nd. Still wondering where this kid will be next year(also wondering if someone will try to swoon him away from Penske Racing).

Nice race by the rookie. Only rookie mistake he made was after the race.... it is impossible to do a burn out with traction control. He tried twice and both time the engine was on the rev limiter and not even a whisp of tire smoke. OOOPS!

I think they'll be at Mansfield. I don't think they would quit now when they are so high in the points.

That should be enough to secure sponsorship... I hope.

I think it's safe to say Parker Kligerman's for real!

If Cunningham closes does that effect Kligerman's deal with Penske Racing? I ask because I am sure there are other teams chomping at the bits to sign him to a developmental deal.

I bet Penske will fund the #77 team for the whole year. I doubt they'll get a sponsor though, there is not much interest in ARCA sponsorship.

Parker's doing exactly what he needs to do. Back-to-back victories last night with a win at Mansfield. Kligerman has won three of the last four Re/Max Series races. And he is on the Iowa entrant list.

Nothing like traction control... this kid has plenty of talent and could likely win without it as he did at Michigan. Last night was so obvious that it was almost a joke with many in the pit /garage (even though teams worked from the traliers) area after the race. Once again he tried during burnouts after the race... the engine is bouncing off the rev limiter on the front stretch and not even the slightest amount of tire smoke. Another tell tale sign was that while every other car out there had red hot brake rotors and the 77 car showed no signs of heat. I think he did not need to drive hard into the corner because he made all his time from the center off and was pulling anybody near him by nearly 2 car lengths from the center out. Others would get near him going in but he could hammer the power so much easier and half a turn sooner than anybody else. At the end of the race on the GWC finish he was nearly out in front 10 car lenghts on old tires in a lap and a half.

This kid has a bright future and loads of talent. I hope he is able to run the full season. However this display is just another example of how ARCA will do whatever it takes too make sure that they have a presence of the elite owners of this sport via driver development programs. So sit back, and watch as ARCA look the other way as they have so often done in the past.

From Camp65's favorite media personality: Parker Kligerman will run the entire season. :)

Hey that IS some good news! I wish him the best.... and the best will mean another season gone by with no championship for Eddie Sharp.:XXROFL:

Won 3 of 9 races so far, 8 top 10s out of 9 races, 5 top 5's out of 9 races, 1st in points as an 18 year old. Just wow.

THREE-PEAT! Parker Kligerman wins at Iowa!

This kid is amazing! Although I do think Joey Logano would equally dominate a full ARCA schedule. I only saw about 10 minutes of the stream in the middle of the race. How about that freaking crowd? We're they giving tickets away for free?

Considering the win at MIS last month and the Cup/Nationwide tracks he already has ran this year I would have too say Kligerman.
