Billy "Catfish" Parker has been released from Rusty Wallace Inc.'s No. 66 Dodges in the NASCAR Busch Series effective immediately, ThatsRacin.com has learned.

catch and release

I think everyone knew this was going to happen. Billy Parker has wrecked in almost every race he has been in and Rusty probably couldn't afford it anymore. I wonder who is going to be in the 1 car this week since Jamie is know driving for Rusty.

Hmiel to the #1? James Finch, who has already had six different drivers behind the wheel of his #1 Dodge in the Busch Series, is considering a seventh -- Shane Hmiel. "I've talked to Shane, but I haven't made a decision," Finch said. Jamie McMurray has been driving Finch's car in races run in conjunction with Nextel Cup events, but others have taken over in stand-alone Busch races. Hmiel, a regular on the Craftsman Truck Series, almost won the Busch race at Milwaukee while filling in for Kahne in the #38 Dodge.(Atlanta Journal-Constitution)(7-10-2004)

Shocking that Rusty's kid isnt in the ride yet. May be He'll be in there next year.

Wallace's kid is only 16. You have to be 18.

He hasn't turned 18 yet. If memory serves me correctly (I do have moments of CRS ;) ) he is only 16 years old. Now, you must be 18 years old before you can participate in Truck/Busch/Cup racing. Just ask Kyle Busch. :)

As for Billy Parker, I have to say that yes, he's a young driver, but he some of the decisions he made while driving the #66 weren't very good ones. Hope to see him in another ride soon.

I am not surprised about Hmiel. I think after the little run in with the drug deal really straighten him out. Because he has been awesome in the truck, true he hasn't won a Truck race. But he has been close and I think with a few more years in the Busch and Truck he could a driver to watch in the future in the Cup series.

I hope for Shane's sake, he asks himself one question, "why has this guy had six different drivers already this season?" Of course, Shane might not be there long enough if someone who James Finch conceives to be a better driver comes along. Shane will get booted out the door. Just ask David Stremme. :)
