Parrott to PE?

Sources in the garage say former Robert Yates Racing crew chief Todd Parrott could be coming out of retirement and headed for Petty Enterprises -- if the Pettys can afford the seven-figure price tag it would take to retain him.

the mil is probably a starting figure, but with the mess PE is in he has a heck of a job ahead of himself to bring it back. If he can then it would be a good investment. Plus at that kind of figure maybe it will make Kyle and/or Richard from second guessing what Parrott is doing.

Todd would beyond question be a great addition to any team as a CC.

The question, at least in my mind, is whether Todd is a great addition in an expanded capacity. Todd can run a crew with the best of them, set up a car, be sure he's ready on race day and all that stuff. But can he oversee an operation with two or three CC's and car chiefs. History seems to go against him. Todd is a control freak and tends to neither delegate well nor empower those under him to get their job done.

You have to start somewhere and Todd would be a good place to start. The price tag is a little high,IMO.I think they could lure Steve Hmeil for that price and he could do even better than Parrott most likely.

I would love for that to happen! 1 Million would be a huge salary for PE. But I hope they do spend that money on him.PE needs him bad!

Could our Prayers of been answered my friend?

Guys a mil is way to much, the CEO of the company i work for makes about 1/2 that and our company brings in over 400,000,000 in revenue a year and has 2000 employees i just don't believe he's worth that.

If he can get PE running at a competitive level, that 1mill salary will be more then made up in improved race winnings alone between the teams.

Considering the way the sport has gone though, that money might be better spent on engineers that know how to build aero-sensitive racecars. Crew chiefs are rarely the brains behind the car anymore it seems.

PE does have a areo deal with Panos, so they are spending money on the bodies! When DW drove the cars he said they felt great and was a very nice ride but just did not have the power. If they get that fixed and a good GM PE might be a contender again, oh and they need to get rid of CF. That did not work out at all like I had hoped!

I'm hoping Todd goes back to work with rusty.Wilburn needs to go.
