There have been some amusing moments in NASCAR banquets.

For example; when Jeff Gordon won one of his championships he had champagne delivered to Dale Earnhardt, he toasted Dale with a glass of milk. There was more behind the joke but I've forgotten what it was. Anyway it was a classy move with a good sense of humor.

Alan Kulwicki was single and brought a date to his championship banquet. One of the drivers said "You'll have to marry her now. How will you explain all these pictures?".
And didn't Bill Elliott present Alan with a golden comb or something that same year? I remember that being a particularly fun banquet.

The one where Kyle called his girlfriend by the wrong name.

At the Cup banquet in New York, Busch called his girlfriend Erica the wrong name. He said Eva, which is the name of his brother Kurt's wife.

Remember the mid race crew switch in 2010? Denny Hamlin congratulated the 48 AND 24 teams on winning the championship, and when the audience gasped, Denny said "Lighten up, people".

The most uncomfortable championship moment I remember was Brad doing poetry in 2010. "Some was hard, some was easy. Some was happ, some was painful...."

Dale Jarret told a story while working in all his sponsors. It was a clever and amusing story. The next year several drivers did the same thing and the idea "jumped the shark" after just one year.
