Tracy to test for R. Gordon at Daytona: Paul Tracy is scheduled to test for Robby Gordon’s Nextel Cup team to Daytona on Jan. 16th. According to this week’s Autosport magazine, Tracy will handle the beginning of next week’s sessions while Gordon travels back from the Dakar rally, which doesn’t end until January 15. "It helps me out and it helps him out, it's a win-win situation for both of us. It lets him work around NASCAR when he's not testing his Champ Car,” Gordon revealed. "He'll get some more superspeedway experience. He can learn from my engineers, but at the same time it helps me because I need a driver who can drive and test as well." Gordon, who currently lies 44th overall in his Hummer H3 at the Dakar, intends to test in the final two days of activity at Daytona [see story below]. Last year, Tracy tested for Richard Childress Racing at Michigan but ended up not making his NASCAR race debut as originally planned.(Speed Channel) Tracy also plans to run some Busch Series races for Biagi Bros. Racing, who field the #4 car for Mark Green in that series.

So.....if he stuffs it into the wall, I'll bet Robby would be real happy...

he's prolly just gonna be doing 3 or 5 lap shakedown runs for most of the day before actually getting the car into testing mode and seeing what setup works best.

Wanna bet??

Yep.
The cars aren't on the edge here, not even in qualifying trim. Just mat it and turn. Even the drivers admit it.
I'm talking running laps alone, not in traffic.
