Paul, we want to hear

Still haven't smoked. Thank goodness for Julie, however, had a few weak moments.

Basically begging her to let me smoke.

But still holding in there. :)

Cutie is talking me into going to the pipe shop........she points every shop we pass!!:) It would be a step in the right direction, so maybe we will go tomorrow after the race........unless, of course I drink too many Bud rooting my boy on!!:D

Paul, are you using a patch or gum?

I've smoked for many years than you have lived and don't choose to quit even tho I have lost family to lung C.

Stay STRONG, and there is an angel for your support. PURRRRRRRR

I have tried just about every thing there is and it didn't work for me. The last thing I tried the DR. said nothing will work untill you make up your mind to quite. I guess I did not have my mind made up...lol next time it will be cold turkey...if i could only get past that first week I think I could do it.

Hang in there Paul you can do it:thumbsup:

The same way that my husband quit(s). The only problem for him is that I smoke, and if he gets real stressed (with two teenage daughters who wouldn't) he starts smoking again.

Keep it up. You can do it!

No wonder you've been cranky, I'd be such a bitch, climbing walls, road rage, even kick the cat!

Julie must be YOUR angel :)

Hang in there, Paul. Patch, gum, will power or shouting from the roof tops, it makes no difference. It does not matter what your methadone is as long as it works.

I once put and ad in the local paper with my picture and a proclamation I would not smoke again and if anyone saw me doing it they could punch me, run me over or call me vulgar names. That was a lot to live up to but it helped.

Paul...wtg...and stick with it. I know exactly what you are going through...

I haven't smoked (not once) since September 9. Its the hardest thing I've ever done...

6 weeks today... :D

Hey Paul, Have you looked into any "support" groups. I had chewed Cope (as well as smoked off and on) for about 10 years before I was finally able to quit. I ended up doing a little seminar type deal at the local hospital. It was designed for guys that were trying to quit chewing, but the principal is the same...quiting nicotine. You might do a little poking around. They even gave me a twelve step book (actually written for smokers but similar to A.A.) Since I went through the program I have been nicotine free (April 23 of this year) Best of luck to you buddy and let me know if you're interested in any of the material that I have. I can try to find that book and mail it to ya if your interested.

Good job Paul, keep it up! Hug Julie every time you feel like lighting up:) She sounds like a great woman!
