Busch, Edwards placed on probation for Bristol antics
By Official Release
August 27, 2008
11:39 AM EDT

NASCAR announced Wednesday that it has placed Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards on probation for the next six races in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of their on-track incident last Saturday at the conclusion of the race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Busch, driver of the No. 18 car, and Edwards, driver of the No. 99 car, both violated Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock-car racing; hitting another competitor's car after the race had concluded) of the 2008 NASCAR rule book.

The probation takes effect beginning with this weekend's event at Auto Club Speedway.

Anybody think NASCAR will have the balls to suspend busch or edwards for a race like they did to harvick a few years ago for aggressive behavior.

Personally I think the only one that should have been penalized was Busch for being a Jerk.

I can go along with Edwards penalty, he shouldn't have retaliated but in the heat of the moment he did and for good reason.
Why shrub got the same penalty when he chased Edwards down and deliberatly body slammed him is a mystery only Nascar can answer.
Nice going for a punk. He's going to make one fine cup champion,,,,:sarcasm:

See I watched the video and I did not see Carl retaliate, I saw him lose grip on the wheel as shrub hit him which caused him to abrutly turn down the sharp banking and Shrub's car happened to be in the way :D

Good, no one needs to lose points over this. It's what NASCAR needs.

I thought NASCAR was going to let them show more personality or something this year? Guess they lied again.

These aren't penalties people. NASCAR put them on probation.....for 6 races. Whoopie.

Their probation ends before Martinsville. :growl:
