Penalties have been levied to the #22 NASCAR Nationwide Series team as a result of rules violations committed last Saturday at Dover International Speedway. During post-race inspection Sept. 28, theE #22 car was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to the NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20-A of the NASCAR rule book, or has been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20A-12.8.1(B) (the car failed to meet the minimum front car heights) of the 2013 rule book. As a result of this violation, crew chief Jeremy Bullins has been fined $10,000 and owner Roger Penske has been docked with the loss of six championship series car owner points.(NASCAR)(10-1-2013)

Just let 'em all cheat in the open.

You wonder why people cheat in this sport, because it is ACCEPTABLE!

Its ridiculous.

It should have been higher. I bet if Clint made the same err they'd hang him in effigy.
Why are people comparing the two? That's what I just can't seem to get a grasp on.. maybe you can enlighten me. What does an intentional spin in the cup series have to do with someone being too low in post race inspection in the nationwide series? I don't even see any grounds for comparison whatsoever other than they both drive cars.

Someone get this one for me.
:crash:

Well if it was in post-race not pre-race then something does seem odd there, maybe it wasn't something that did? Things do change in a race honestly.

Yeah well everyone else seemed to think they should be disqualified or fines 50'000 points LOL... just sayin.. I was right.

:p

:fixed:

Gordon once was disqualified when he won one of the gatorade duals when he was too low post race.

Had to start dead last for the 500.

Actually it would be really neat if Nascar made a rule that said a driver cannot pit unless he 'really' needs to , or one that said that a driver can't spin out during the race , unless it's 'really ' by accident . Then folks could say ...hey that's cheating . It would be like making your car lower than everybody elses and gaining an aero advantage which enables you to win the race .

I don't know if team Penske is lying or not, but Race Hub just reported that a spring retaining screw backed out during the race. I don't really understand why that would affect both sides of the car but I don't really know how their suspension works.

I thought the same thing. 1 screw...maybe. But both sides isn't likely.

I have a feeling these statements from the boss's desk are based on how well the CC snows the boss about what happened. Sounds like Bullens didn't work too hard on his cover story, but the old man bought it.
