Pep Boys

Sounds like they really screwed up this time. I worked as a Store Manager for Auto Zone for almost 6 years and this sounds a whole lot like something they would do too. Most Store Managers were working 60+ hours every week. Often several weeks in a row without a day off. We were scheduled to work at least 50 hours a week, but that never really happened. They pretty much told me that my job was more important than my family. I can't count on both hands the number of Managers who got divorces (sometimes more than one) due to the demands of the job. That was probably the biggest reason why I got out of there. I hope Pep Boys has to pay out a freakin' ton of money to these people and their families.

I'm a manager of a World Gym out here in CO. Springs, pretty much the same thing would result if the same situation occured. Most retail or sales based jobs are very goal oriented, meaning your goal is to make corporate as much money as you can. It doesn't matter if you have a life outside of work, a girl friend, or family, or for that matter other interests other than any related to work. Major corporate America does not care about the little guy anymore, all they care about is the gross at the end of the day! It is sad and it pisses me off, i've worked for huge companies that offer great bennifits, 401 k, ect ect...... but bottom line is always money and your willingness to go that extra mile to make you a "company man". What Pep Boys did will come back to bite them in the butt, will it change the way coporate America does its' business.....NO. The only way to get way from that crap is to work for yourself , so that you are in control of your own destiny.

I hope this organization crashes and burns. Why would they knowingly violate a federal law?

Maybe this is there own form of protest....
