Lapped four times, three time recipient of lucky dog, top ten finish. Discuss..........Is it good ??? bad ??? Should it be limited to one, two, three per driver per race ??? I know it's for safety, but still have never liked this rule at all...no matter who it benefits. Seems like Newman got a lot of finishes like this last year courtesy of this rule. Could be wrong ,though. Cheers. :beerbang:

sounds like a fix to me...i'm not even a jr hater or a conspiracy theorist...but it seemed funny that the second junior was the first car a lap down, carl long spun out yet again.

I'm sort of wishy-washy about it, myself. Don't like the idea of giving something for nothing, but, the safety of the competitors comes first.

There have been winners of races that have been Lucky-Dogs, so it is the same for everyone.

Amen!!!!! Eliminate that silly "lucky Dork" thing!!!!!!!!!!!

At least limit it to one lucky dog to one per driver per race.

It's a dumb rule. For sure.

And it's not a safety issue. When a caution come out, the field is frozen. No passing. Period.

The fact that trying to get your lap back when the caution came out was eliminated, that was for safety.

Here's my latest thing, now. Even though I hate this rule, we all know it will be kept for safety. So, I think lapped cars to the inside should be changed. This was done to give them an opprotunity to get their lap back. Since laps are given back for free, it only seems fair that the lead lap cars restart on the inside, lapped cars fight it out on the outside for lucky- dog position.Anyone else think this would be good ?? I think you'd have less leader-breakaways because of lapped traffic & better racing among more of the lead lap cars...at least immediately after the restarts.

how about restart in the pos you are in? in orther wards, send lap cars to the BACK

I like the idea of having lapped cars re start on the outside...it seems to make more sense. I suppose that if someone had a car good enough to physically get ahead of the leader, then they should be able to do it on their own accord, from the outside and not get in the way of the guy trying to take the lead.

I like the lucky dog rule...it's a position you gotta fight for, if you win that fight you should get it....Cars a lap down should definately start on the outside....I think the competition for the lead would be better.....

^ and it also could take you out just like that...lapped cars= disturbance

we see it everytime
