There is always enough to protest when it comes to Nascar, flyboy! And, I hope you are right and don't end up with egg on your face!

I should have said for the 99.9% of fans that want to voice Their protests in the petition

flyboy,Ur not alone in Ur being in favor of the play-off idea, but I do believe that the lines are thin on Ur side

I've signed a petition, e-mailed NEXTEL(who is getting bombarded by e-mails according to a local radio station), and called BMS to voice my concern(they also are getting lots of e-mails and calls, with some wanting to return their tickets).

The one place I won't even try to contact is NASCAR themselves. They obviously don't care what we think or what all but one driver thinks.

Flboy, you should go work for NBC. All you seem to care about is ratings and excitement. Not the quality of racing and whether or not this will cause more sponsorship problems. Dale Jarrett was interviewed and sais the UPS and Coke are voicing concerns about sponsoring cars not in the playoffs.

How can guys like Jeff Burton and others get a sponsor if they may only really be racing in 26 of 36 races? Will there be stipulations in these contracts saying that the sponsor has an out after 26 races if the driver doesn't make the playoffs?

This will make the racing better in my opinion. No more sand bagging anymore. The race winner gets more points now making that position more important than ever. All the teams will have to finish as high as possible to make the Points cutoff for the last 10 races! I sure can't see any driving around the track anymore! I also like the idea of increasing the minimum speed per lap >> for the slow or crashed cars >> Good move for Safety!

This is America and you do have the Right To Protest >> Thats an excellent right to have >> I personally don't support a protest for this!!

Please Please >> Give your Bristol Tickets back >> I'm sure millions of Fans would love to have them!!

Thats the best Ticket in All Of Sports !!!!

I wouldn't mind going to the race there and Watching Kurt Busch Kick some Butt!

I can't believe you actually think that drivers (teams) sandbag. I dare you to tell Rusty, Martin, DJ, or guys like Dale Earnhardt or Kulwucki that they sand bagged. I have a feeling you would get sandbagged.

By the way, if anyone is interestedin getting rid of their tickets, I know someone (me) who would be interested in taking them off of their hands.

Dinforthe3 >> you certainly havent watched much nascar if you think those drivers havent done some "Points Racing" when they had too!

If you have the points title with a good lead >> why risk things under the current system >> you show up with more durable engines..less Horsepower and you do anything to avoid the big disaster >> no reason to go for the wins

Nice to think that such a petition could be used to actually make a difference, but it will not. It's really just a way for those that are pissed to blow off some steam. 1,000 signatures on a survey compared to how many thousands of viewers is not really not much of a concern to Nascar. Nascar isn't going to change anything anyway because they already know that this new type of format is going to create a spike in number of viewers for the last ten races, which will increase revenue through selling tv advertisements.

I would sign this if i thought it would do any good. Nascar will only listen to the sponsors who put the money in their pockets . If the sponsors start pulling out, then and only then will they reconsider this points proposal.

Not if Dale Jr. fails to make the 'playoffs'. They might not get the ticket sales they are hoping for either.

I won't sign it...it's like fighting city hall. Most of the fans hate it & most of the drivers have said they hate it too, but that isn't swaying Nascar's position one bit.

Kind of ironic...all last season when Matt was running away with the points, fans & media were pizzing & moaning that the point system needed changing. Now that they are, most the same fans & media are still pizzing and moaning not to change it. Go figure!

By calling for a points change,IMO seemed like most fans were just calling for a few more points awarded to the race winner and perhaps an even amount of points awarded to the 30th to 43rd position finishers so as to cut down on number of wrecks running around the track for a few extra points.Basically just calling for some minor tweaks or refinements to the point system, not a wholesale change such as NASCAR has proposed,a big difference there ;)

Thanks to the members Who've signed it :) Even if it doesn't make a difference then at least We've let Our voices be heard, regardless ;) :(

I think that instead of a petition to Nascar it would get better results to have everybody email Nextel and say the top 10 sponsors including Dodge, Ford and GM with their views on the new system. If the sponsors would get a ton of emails against the plan they might get on the wagon. Nascar will listen faster to them than they will the fans.

I signed too, 7562 signatures so far.

Why not send it to all mentioned above?
