This is what has happened to the speedway.

tkj, the only thing that will save that speedway is money...lots of money and because of that, there will probably not be any buyers. If you buy it, you will never make any money and will sink further in debt. NASCAR is never give another date to the track and therefore, only local racing would be available. It's a shame though.

I always loved going to that track. Had some great times there.

I did as well. Got stuck many times too, but what the hell, a little muddy parking lot is normal.

Never got in as much mud at Wilkesboro as we did at Martinsville. We were in the BIG field one day and it rained out the race, you would have loved because here comes this woman in a bikini and she just starts rolling in the mud. LOL. It was funny

Yeah, the Martinsville parking lots use to be a real problem when it rained. They have changed it a lot these days and with the fencing added so that cars can't go over the curb and now have to follow the roads, it's quite different. I remember one Sunday, when it rained, cars were trying to drive up that hill and some were sliding back down. One such car got it sideways and began to slide down sideways. It ended up hitting another parked car. We had our little Jeep Wrangler then and I just went right up the hill without any problems.
