Petty Enterprises Close On Sponsorship Announcement
Petty Enterprises will not be a single-car team next season, contrary to published reports last week. Kyle Petty says he was waiting to have full-time sponsorship lined up before signing a driver. He is close to making an announcement. Petty says the addition of former Jeff Gordon crew chief Robbie Loomis will become a selling point for potential drivers and sponsors. Dave Blaney and Mike Bliss could be candidates for the No. 43 car.(Sporting News

I would rather see KYLE in the 43, but I know the 45 is special for him.

That's true, HUTfan. I'm sure he'll drive the 45 until he retires. While he drives in memory of his son, it still must be painful when he thinks of who was supposed to drive that car. It must be hard to do this week after week.
