Only because RCR hasn't switch over to Dodge until 2019. I think Richard was smart and maybe got a good deal for the first few years. RCR is losing engine buyers because they all know he will be gone anyway UNLESS they become a multi-engine shop. I know HMS builds many engines but I think they are all GM.

First time back with GM since they ran Pontiacs in 2000 I believe.
Good move by Petty and RCR. Bubba has a chance to be more competitive next season. Presume they will move to Dodge if the chatter proves out which could also be a logical move (follow the new money and hope it's a competitive car). Glad the legendary 43 is out there, as well as The King!

That car will have battery and alternator problems. It's going to take a lot of juice to power that paint scheme.

Mr. Sublett's prediction as it were involves RCR and RPM moving to Dodge for 2019. There is nothing here to really support or refute that. The language in all of the press releases only mentions 2018. That would imply it is not a multiyear agreement, but who knows.

I don't know if its going to work or not. I just know it was time to do something different. The driver/team relationship seemed to had gotten stagnant and with another Ford team being added it was time to move on.

Any team going to Ford was at a great disadvantage. Ford gave everything to Roush and they milked that cow dry, not investing in what was needed to run competitive.
Jack wanted to race and win but once he took on a partner, profits to the investor was the main deal.
Signing Penske and now SHR may have just saved Ford as a manufacturer in Nascar.

Good luck to the Petty team.I believe NASCAR needed Petty and Bubba for 2018 season much more than RCR.I am still hopeful Ford will replace the Fusion with the Mustang.
