Petty/Victory Junction Gang Camp Featured on TV This Weekend: Kyle and Pattie Petty, founders of the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman (N.C.), will be featured on two separate national broadcasts this weekend. NBC Nightly News recently toured the camp and will feature the facility on tonight’s national news broadcast. TNT Sports also spent time at the camp this past weekend. Kyle, Pattie and Austin Petty took TNT cameras throughout the camp as they gave viewers an in-depth look at what happens every day at the camp. The piece is scheduled to air this Sunday during TNT’s pre-race show. (Petty Racing PR)

NBC's nightly news have a feature about Kyle and the VJG and it almost brought a tear to this old man's eyes. I'm so proud of what Kyle is doing but it doesn't stop there. His efforts have brought forth the efforts of so many of the other drivers, most if not all of the top notch drivers. I can't imagine anything like this happening in any other sports venue with possibly the NFL and then it would have to be big before any of the other stars participated. These days, I think that Kyle could almost get away with murder in the series and be excused, such as what is probably going to happen wth his major faux pax at Sonoma, and rightly so.

There was a time when Kyle seemed to be a major competitor, but that soon waned and he became the back marker that he is today. However, when his son was killed, many of us felt like the real recipeint of the Petty name had died, Kyle decided at that time to change directions not only in his carreer, but his life and it's brought major kudos from not just the racing community, but also the rest of the world. If only word could get out that this isn't something "NASCAR", I think that it would get even bigger. I think that the positive press that NBC has given Kyle will help considerably.

Kudos to Kyle and NBC.
