Sometimes a man's gotta do what he's gotta do.

I also would have dumped Kyle. Remember, Kyle/agent was talking to other owners and HMS could have ended up without either Kyle or Jr. Besides, I would rather have Jr than Kyle on my team for many reasons.

Jr will definitely bring more sponsor money for years to come. Sponsors love him and his fan base is huge. So I see it from that point. But as a driver, I'd rather have Kyle any day of the week.

Thnk about it from Rick's POV. He has Jeff and Jimmie. He doesn't really need another Championship contender. What he needs is someone to make the cash registers go cha-ching. And, with Lil'E he has that. Especially when compared to Kyle's potential to sell merchandise. Mears is needed as the R&D driver. Lil'E will have to win occasionally to keep the Red Army marching in to empty out their wallets and make excuses why he can' win the trophy. Lil'E can be milked for a decade before Rick has to look for the next cash cow.

Mistake tradin Bush for JR???? no way, ( and I am by no means a Jr fan....) but Jr has had a few years to mature..... huge fan base.... family heritage, great driver...... then you have Bush.... how many cars has he torn up this year??? he's Kyle Bush's brother...... PR nitemare....... few fans..... advantage Jr.
Now I will say this, if you can reign Bush in, calm him down and knock that chip off his shoulder, he will be a really good one, one day......just not now.
I'm kinda dreadin next year with JJ, JG, AND Jr..... geeze you think Hendrick has won a bunch this year?????
