First of all, if you have any political snark to insert, please take it to The Podium. This is a serious thread about a NASCAR event taking place at The White House today. Your political diatribes are not welcome in this thread. :rolleyes:

I talked to Rusty Wallace and asked him if he was pursuing a Cup date at Iowa Speedway and he said they're looking in to it. They need to get the money for a Cup payout and need to add more stands, but he's very proud of what's been accomplished at Iowa Speedway. I'll post a link to the audio file as soon as it's uploaded.

I also talked (off-tape) with Marty Smith and Brad Daugherty (he's freakin' close to 7 feet tall man:eek:) from ESPN, Lindsay Czarniak from TNT and NBC 4 Washington, Chuck Todd from NBC News, Ramsey Poston and a few other people from NASCAR. Most of the people there were political reporters.

I had never seen Richard Petty without his hat on before today. I thought he slept with that hat on, lol.

once upon a time in the olden days brad played basketball for some dinky school in nc. even played in the nba for a few years for the cavs before retiring because of back problems. obama and nascar doesn't compute. <g>

Say what!

Not political? I don't see any photos of the mountains, or the beach! Or a racetrack. Do you think for one moment the WHOLE ENTIRE invite wasn't political? Why would one even THINK it wasn't totally political? I'm thinking this thread should follow the first one.

Two amazing things happened on this day:

#1 - Tony Stewart shaved
#2 - Richard Petty was seen without his hat
 
Andy was the only one who asked for a strip search before entering the White House. Just kidding, thanks for sharing the pics.

Brad's so tall, he disappeared right out of the photo he posed for that I took???? LOL Beats me what happened to it! It just wasn't there when I went to transfer pics from my card. All the people around did joke that I should turn the camera for a verticle shot, even Brad. LOL
