... and FAIL! :salute:

So while everyone were busy patting themselves on the back for the rescue of the captain and the death of 3 pirates 4 more ships were taken and 2 other ships were attacked. Obviously they aren't afraid. This is not going to turn out well...

A Stearn message needs to be sent, a few rounds shot off the destroyer over into the mainland should do the trick. The only thing these terrrorists ...yes terrorists understand is death. They need to be taught a lesson and the only way to do that is with force, the sooner the better or this will drag on forever.

We didn't have the cojones to do the job before what do you think has changed where we will be successful now?

We need to send a lot more pirates to Davy Jones' locker.

You nailed it Balls! Unfortunately I don't think Obama has what it takes to do the job either.

i just don't understand why the ships out there aren't arming their self's

a 50 cal would channge the thought process on an approaching boat

They can't do that. They could be violating the "rights" of innocent fisherman who only want to get directions. ;)

For those of you insisting that Ron Paul is a certified nut he makes an awful lot of sense in this proposal.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21245.html

A little-known congressional power could help the federal government keep the Somali pirates in check — and possibly do it for a discount price.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) and a growing number of national security experts are calling on Congress to consider using letters of marque and reprisal, a power written into the Constitution that allows the United States to hire private citizens to keep international waters safe.

National security experts estimate that this week’s ship captain rescue by Navy SEALs cost tens of millions, although a Navy spokesman says the military cannot confirm the exact cost of the mission.

Instead, privateers would be incentivized to patrol the ocean looking for key targets — and money would be paid only to the contractor who completed the job.

Now that's a plan I could get behind.

Somali leader: We need help to battle pirates

MOMBASA, Kenya - Somalia's prime minister says his government has identified many pirate leaders and would be willing to share that information with other countries, including the United States, to get the resources needed to go after them.

Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, speaking Thursday to The Associated Press in an exclusive interview, said the pirates have become so wealthy and powerful that they threaten his government.

"We have information on who is behind this, who is involved," Sharmarke said in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi. "There is a lot of money flowing in ... we are following very closely how money is distributed here."

must have been absent that day Andy, excuse the F*** out of me !!

You have to excuse Andy. He's from Murderland, in fact he's within easy driving distance of Bodymore and his ideas on guns reflect his living in such a pansy liberal state... :D

There are various treaties, pacts, acts and declarations that prohibit the arming of merchant ships dating back to the mid 1800's and some even earlier.

Following the demise of pirates, arrrggh type pirates, the merchant vessels had no need for weaponry. However during certain times of war merchant ships were armed with a defensive weapon, normally a single cannon or large 3 to 6 inch bore gun.

Another reason is to prevent the start of a international incident should someone make a boo-boo and fire off a shot.

Google is yer friend.

Somali pirate suspect arrives in New York City

NEW YORK - The sole surviving Somali pirate from the hostage-taking of an American ship captain arrived in New York, smiling for a gaggle of cameras and reporters as federal agents led him into custody to face charges in the attack at a court hearing Tuesday.

Abduhl Wali-i-Musi was handcuffed and had a chain wrapped around his waist. His left hand was heavily bandaged from the wound he suffered during the skirmish on the ship two weeks ago.

The smiling teenager seemed poised as he entered a federal building in a rainstorm late Monday, but he did not say anything in response to reporters' shouted questions about whether he had any comment about the pirate episode.

More than likely he'll get off. Get preferred immigration Visa. Receive a scholarship to some Ivy college. He's just a poor black muslim that's never had a real chance at fulfilling his destiny. How all of you can denigrate this poor unfortunate person is beyond me... :(
