Pleasant surprise

Just as the race was about to start last night there was a knock on the door. One of my son's best friends was standing there having just returned from Afganistan Thursday. Lotsa beer was consumed. I missed the race.

That's great and worth missing a race, we have lost some good people in Afghanistan and Iraq, those who lost their lives most definitely deserve respect and support for their families. But we have to be thankful and cherish the living as well.
I was happy when my nephew returned home from Afghanistan too.

Races come and go but that will be a memory to cherish for a long time.
