What are your thoughts about this track? Good for first timers? Can you see, price traffic etc. Wonder what your thoughts are good or bad. I know the tickets I am looking at are expensive but may be a once in a lifetime, so why not. Just need the rest of the story.

I love going to Pocono and I will be there for both June and August. If you can get up higher than row 30 it is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the more north grandstands as much as i am the south, which is strange because typically I like to be more on the turn 4 side of the start/finish line on other tracks.
Traffic going in is a breeze if you are there before 9am, but be sure to pack a lunch to get back out of the place after the race!
Most people I've talked to say they don't care for Pocono because you can't see anything. Must be they had low seats. Stay above row 30 and you'll see the whole track.
I hope that helps.
Charlotte in 2 weeks for me chillin with the 16!

I think DPK goes to Pocono a lot so he can probably help you out with some good info also.

Thanks I have spoken with him and he was very helpful thanks DPK but was just trying to get a few other thoughts on it

I loved my trip to Pocono. Beautiful rural area .In the Pocono mountains . Took a side trip down to Philly for a ball game .Track is so unique , kinda like road course/superspeedway , but you can see everything .

Well I am an hour east of the track but never been there hoping to go to the June race

Wow , you're so lucky to be that close . I drove over 16 hours to get there and I loved it . Get there early (9.00am )and stay late , bring back pictures and post a few here . Have you been to Dover and Watkins Glen?

No all the years that I have enjoyed NASCAR never been to a race in person now that my daughter is older I am trying to talk her bf to go with me crossing my finger that he can get off from work

There is nothing , nothing , like going to a race .You will be amazed .That's what I mean about getting there early and staying late , take it all in . Record the race at home , you'll want to watch it again.

I had already planned on doing that to bad my wife isn't a race fan lol at least she goes to pistol range with me. Half redneck.

Tell her , this isn't about being a race fan . This is about being at an event . That's why I say record the race . It's more like going to a World Series game or a Kentucky derby . It's something just to experience .Race fan or not , she'll enjoy it.

Well I was thinking about going to Dover but that almost 3 hours away. I don't care what track it is just want to see one race before they throw the dirt in my face.

Funny thing is I have passed that way several time when I was taking classes for the NRA never thought of going before this year just really want to go. For me will be a once in a lifetime sorta like when I did the ride along program last summer that was a blast. Anyone that gets a chance to do that should.

been going to dover since 1988. sometimes great, sometimes not. But when they fire up those 43 engines that is awesome.

Well only reason that I decided not to go there is the traveling my health isn't really that great this year would be a very long day to drive there watch race then drive home again

Pocono is also on my short list. Only Pocono, Phoenix, and New Hampshire are left.

I've been to New Hampshire.. it's pretty cool.

I've always wanted to go to Pocono. My dad had friend that was gonna get us set up down there but he passed away.
