I don't have a child but I have taken my Nephew to the races since he was 5. I tried my best to get him to like Richard Petty. He did for a while and for the life of me I can't figure out why he turned to Dale Earnhardt. I still took him reluctantly though.

Yeah and during most of Dale's Championships he got the #1 pit. Used to be last years champion got first pick of the pit.

Well, like I said, I like Smoke just fine. He can win if Jeff is totally out of the running, but that's not the case. LOL

My son doesn't follow NASCAR anymore, except he'll glance over while on the computer and will tell me if I got up at the wrong time and missed a wreck! LOL His last favorite driver was Chad Little, so that gives you an idea of how long it's been. I'm new to racing and I had to tell him he doesn't race anymore!

Neither of my daughters are race fans, even though the middle one got to GO to NASCAR races for a few years with an ex. She's the closest to a fan, since her new in-laws are all into racing. She also is the one I can drag to a race with me and I plan on doing it in 2008!

Heck, my husband doesn't even have a favorite, although he likes several of the drivers I do, but he sure enjoyed (along with my son) laughing their asses off at me when Jeff spun w/2 laps to go at The Glen and I was on my feet screaming.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Brats!!

This is true!!!!!! That's why I'm just holding my breath until we get further into the Chase. Look what a couple of races has done to some of the guys. Plus, the top 5 or 6 are so close in points, one could sneeze at the wrong time and it would all change.
