Three observations:

1 - Jr. only third?

2 - I disagree with a number of entries and positions on this list. For example, I thought that harvick should be much lower than 7th. Hamlin and Jr. should have been switched. In fact, you could make a good case for Jr. being first. Edwards, Biffle, Smoke and Dillon should not have been that high.

- Delana Harvick's tweet was great: "Hey assholes I'm not driving the car... You try driving 3 wide at 200 miles per hour PERFECT every single lap!"

:D

If they were racing at Daytona again I would agree that Jr should be higher. But since they're not I think 3rd for Jr is pretty generous.

I think with an Unlimited and Duel race win and 2nd in the 500, Hamlin should be first.

The real Daytona 500 power rankings:

I guess they just keep continually bringing Speedweeks up for the hell of it.
They can bring up whatever they want as many time as they'd like, but that really doesn't mean it's gospel. We all know who was the powerhouse at the Daytona 500 because he won the race!

Who cares? It's all gonna change tomorrow anyway!
Is it called the speed weeks power ranking or the Daytona 500 power ranking?

Neither. It's called the nascar power rankings. They rate a team's general strength. It's not solely based on the results of the last race.
It's a combination of how well a team did at the last few races, and how well they are likely to do at the next race.

I'm gonna go with "What is neither, Alex, for a$1000."

Perhaps you aren't sure how Power Rankings work?

That would be awesome if this were the Daytona 500 power rankings. Dang dude, you're getting pretty bent out of shape over something that's based solely on opinion. We get it. You don't like Denny and you're mad because he had the best Speedweeks. Theres still plenty of season to go. He won't be #1 every week. I promise. Calm down fella before you stroke out.

1. Hamlin should be first. Two wins and a second place finish, plus a win to end last season.

So in this case Jimmie is going to be first every single week.

Unless the 48 start a falling apart I'd say top 5 at least.

JJ is ranked #1 because his team is obviously very strong, and they finished top 3 in both Phoenix races last year.

I find it interesting how all of the sudden you have wise a$$ things to say now that someone else set us both straight!
Which by the way I appreciate being corrected when I am wrong, so thank you, mreed.

Yep, Phoenix is normally the place he clinches the championship. 4 wins there.

What in the blue blazes are you talking about? BOTH set straight? I never said anything contrary to what mreed said. I'm more than aware of how power rankings work fella.

But that just makes too much sense. Why would NASCAR do that?
