Poster Of The Week?

Ok I had an idea about something that would be cool.
It was to have a poster of the week type of deal.
Each week or bi-week one of the mods could post a poll on the board asking who you the posters thought should be named poster of the week. The Mods would limit it down to there top 5 or 10 choices, and open it up to the fans for the final 1 day vote.
When making your decison you would need to consider:
who has contributed the most to the site
who has been a nice person
who has been helpful etc.
and not for who is your best freind/wife/hudsband etc.

What do you guys think about this

I don't know about that, don't want this place to become a popularity contest. Looks good on paper but I don't think it would work very well in the long run

I thought it was a good idea too until natedog brought up his point. Probably isn't the best idea.

Wow...the results are tight on this one! I am for it with some reservations.

1.It could,as mentioned turn the forum into a popularity contest....and create a million really stupid post's as everyone tries to compete.

2.On the other hand----it could create a million really creative posts....and up the number of members who actually will post.

3.IF it were accepted,a hard set of rules should apply.Originality,humor,knowledge content,etc.IMO

maybe if we all made good rules and promised to not post alot just to gain numbers it would work??
