Who do you predict will be on the pole for Infineon. My prediction is:

Jeff Gordon

well of course i'll say jeff gordon...*looks at my avatar* lol

but anyway i think tony has a good chance at it too

I also say Jeff...But tony will probably be less than half a second off for outside pole. And it's hard to say what to expect out of the ringers.

jeff or robby gordon, no doubt. they're both solid road course racers, and both know their way around Infineon

^ lol are you late or what?

and no one picked kurt cuz he just sucks lol but too bad he got it though.

now lets just seat back and wait to see that 20 and 24 put a hurt to these people now.

^ and the 7...

I dont like the track conditions. With the west series running around there between practice and quals, i don't think it's a good idea. And the west series is owned/sanctioned by nascar (isn't it?), why aren't they using goodyear?

Can't suck too bad if he is on the pole!!!

If everyone is driving on the same track, under the same conditions, what does it matter ??

Do you mean everyone on an equal playing field? I'm not positive about this but I don't Nascar plays that way. :)

Several drivers that went out early in qualifying said the track was slick. Between the other series running a different compound of tire and the track sitting idle for a good half-hour, the track baked in the sun and got slick. Simple as that.

The temp was 100+ ambient, so the track surface was cooking and melting the rubber already laid down.

I think it has a lot to do with cost. When i was in CO., all the late model guys and the Busch West guys ran Hoosier. They were only allocated a certain amount per event too, if i remember correctly.

Qualifying draw has always been an issue. If you drew early, too bad. Some point down the road, everyone gets a lucky draw & benefit from it then.

yeah well getting a pole or two makes no differece, the thing is can he hold first place for oh 2, 3 laps? we'll see.

Kurt Busch, like him or not, is one of the most talented drivers on the track, and arguably the best short track driver out there. I think he'll do fine.

Just ask Ryan Newman!

Like Happy Hour speeds mean anything? They're just working on setups, right? I'm so glad that the "impoud rule" is close to history!

What happened with the impound rule? Some races have it some don't, i thought it was going to be across the board for this entire season, now i don't hear much about it??

^ they actually dropped that rule. only the bush series still have 'em

really? then i guess my memory is failing me.

There might be a couple of races this year that Nascar will still implement the impound rule. But for the most part, it's history. At least in the Cup series.

I "really" meant for Jeff to win the race, not to get the pole. :)
