Predictions for Infineon??

I

Its all good

Guest
Hey You All...Im going to Infineon this weekend for the race.. any predictions on the winner???? JPM won last year.. will he do it again??? Or will there be a surprise ending???? Maybe Kyle??? Jr?? Gordon??? Are the new guys that use to race Indy up for this road course challenge in the Nascar cars yet???? What do you think???

GO JUAN PABLO!!!!! :pbjtime:

TOP 5: Monyota, Robby, Happy, Boris, Smoke

Every time we go.. its freezing, foggy in the morning then we are delayering all our clothes by noon.. then sweating to death by three.. nothing ever changes..lol

id love to see a ringer show them how its done. next thing you know ringers will be against the rules because nascar things we cant have our stars getting beat by outsiders lol

GO JUAN PABLO!!!!! :pbjtime:

TOP 5: Monyota, Robby, Happy, Boris, Smoke
Note even close.

Robby will make it to the front in no time, but his aggression will take him out with under 50 to go, likely right after a pit stop.

Juablo will get a top 10 but not much more.

Boris will do his usual thing and get a top 5, but a pit issue will hold him back.

Harvick will have an early spin and be relegated to 18th

Smoke will do like robby and get too aggressive towards the end of the race. However, he will save to car to make a top 10 out of it.

Hornish will be typical slow but still log a top 15.

The winner will start between 15th and 20th, some kid named Martin Truex.

Honorable mentions:

Kyle busch's speed and power will send him into the kitty litter.

Hamlin will get a top 5

All 4 hendrick cars will be top 15, but no top 5's of the group

Right now I'm thinking of Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Juan Pablo, Sam Hornish and a few others. Boris didn't do so well last year at The Glen. Oh yeah, Carl Edwards was showing off some of his dirt track abilities there. He was wild - best part was at the end when he went into the kitty litter and made it back out again. :)

All the Hms cars go out in he same crash. Jeff Burton and Kyle Busch fight for the lead. Kyle out of gas, Burton Wins it.

Anyone think the Tasmanian Devil, Marcos Ambrose, who was a real devil on the road courses in Australia, will do well? This is one Cup race that he will be entered in. I'll be interested to see how he does...if he makes the race that is.

Its going to depend on Marcos' pit strategy. He'll probably be starting near the back so he'll have to do something go get position. But if he gets near the front then he could make some noise.

Stewart will win, unless there is some late race pit stragedy that screws him out of another win there.

im gonna go to the race this weekend i cant wait. i know the useually guys that everyone has already said will be good but theres one name no one mentioned jamie mcmurry he has been improving alot on the road courses.

I was wondering about Marcos as well. I'm also wondering if Carpentier and Franchitti will be better on a road course.

It is my opinion that pit stratigy LOST Robby G the race, gotta be smart about that!! Duane

I predict that most drivers will turn both right and left during this race. :D
I take it you said most since kyle busch may or may not elect to ignore the left turns if somebody is to his right?

Robby!!

and note to the ones going. Dont try to steal a banner when the lead cars are going by, you will be on tv.....

Like many others here, my favorites for the win are Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, Scott Pruett...dark horse: Dario Franchitti

Montoya, R. Gordon, Said, J. Gordon and Ambrose. Or Montoya, Pruett, Ambrose and Robby all take each other out on the last lap and McMurray wins.

Said, Rowdy, R. Gordon, Montoya, and my dark horse is going to be Marcus Ambrose

This was at Sears Point (as it was then known) in 1999: I was on the backstretch waiting for the race to start and noticed this huge PC in the infield-

All of a sudden a bunch of flares started going off around the bottom-

After a few minutes it was going pretty good-

All of a sudden- BABOOM!

baboom.jpg

A huge roar went up from the crowd- it seems funny today, but computers were still largely distrusted and unloved back then.

That's down the side straight isn't it? Past I want to say the turns 2/3a complex oro so, right before the turn off for the infield long course?

Crazy pics.. man they are lucky they got it out quick.. with as dry as it is there that could have really done some serious damage.
As far as predictions im "hoping" Tony can break his losing streak here..Kyle will wreck himself and probably someone else..J.Gordon will start out strong and in the end will be in the back..JPM will do good but run out of gas.. Kahne will surprise everyone on how well he does on this track.. Burton will be up front somewhere.. Hamlin will cry about something and Biffle and Edwards will have a top 5 finish....But in the end it will come down to the calls they make in the pits.. gas will be a factor in the end!! Just my thoughts anyways :)

What effects if any will the COT have at Infineon? Do you think it will be that diffferent for the drivers???

they ran the COT at both road courses last year. But now that the teams have a better hold of the car, i think the racing will be different.

Yeah, so Franchitti not qualifying might make it hard for him to be a surprise winner  Oh well what can I say?

Edit to Add: I'll change my vote for dark horse winner to 'Mad' Max Papis

I'm going to be watching "Mad Max" Papis in the 66.

Darn it! I had picked both of the LaBontes for my fantasy racing and then got myself swayed to putting in some other drivers. This rookie should has listened to herself for once. LOL

Congratulations Bobby & Terry!
