Yeah baby, racing on the dirt! :beerbang:

Got mine recording on DirecTV DVR - guaranteed to record if we lose signal.

prelude

If it's half as good as last year it will bill worth the bucks to watch. Beleive Rowdy may be the one to beat tonight though. Wonder why Smoke didn't invite Sadler?

:( My husband rolled his eyes when he asked how much it cost. So ........ yeah... we're not watching.:mad:

Blaney on the pole as they run with a NEW TRACK RECORD.

Wild Thing crashes in qualifying! :D

Ok so they are showing us

Drivers and other workers in the pits, while in the background there is a race going on.. I'm wondering why they aren't broadcasting that race for us to see..
Betsy:rolleyes:

Yeah Robby drove it like he stole it! Going away from the field after making a slide pass on the leader.
Betsy;)

Tony Stewart (Smoke) wins the Prelude to the Dream, Robby Gordon finishes 2nd. Incredible racing action. :beerbang:

One more yellow

is all Robby needed to get to tony and wreck both of em.. :D After the race Robby said he would spend the year building his own car and would be back next year for sure.
Betsy;)

They are broadcasting if you have HBO Pay-Per-View..;):D

not true. you should never believe DW when talking about a dirt race. The track record for a late model is 15.215 held by Rick Eckert. Blaney ran a 15.436. it was the track record for the Prelude event only....

Robby will more then likey buy or Scott Bloomquest may give him the car. Them "Team Zero" cars are pretty good!

In a few months it'll be on Speed...for free...that's more in my price range...

Bloomquist doesn't give anything away.

It was interesting to compare this year's race to last year's race. The heavy rain earlier in the day made for a fast and tacky track. Last year, it was dry and slick. The drivers with little experience in a dirt late model seemed to struggle this year on the tacky track compared to last year when they ran well on the slick track.

Wasn't as good as last years race. I also thought the broadcast was HORRIBLE! DW squeels like a little school girl, and is calling action on the track that we couldn't see, and the whole Fox broadcast team (cameramen included) don't knowhow to shoot dirt races. Hopefully next year HBO will use a team from Speed to shoot the race, as they know how to do it (take a look at the WoO world finals from lowes last year)

That being said, hats off to Tony, all the drivers, and all dirt guys like VanWormer, Francis and all the others that worked their asses off and brought cars (some of which got torn up). I also hope that this can bring even just a few new fans to see local dirt late model racing.

And wow, Tony handing the million dollar check to Petty without even knowing how much revenue was raised was simply awesome! (so I tip my hat to Tony again.)

That had to be awesome. I can't wait to watch it on SPEED. I'm sure Tony's good for the balance if they didn't earn it from PPV. Nice to see a good comment about Tony for a change. :) :beerbang:

It was wierd seeing bloomer being involved in anything connected with NASCAR. Its pretty well known he doesn't care for the series at all. I think he was doing his homework for the dream saturday night. Was cool to see him down at the bottom of the track telling robby where to run.

Was Mark Martin running in moyer's equipment again this year? if so they got alot of work to do that car looks like it needed to be reclipped in the front.

OOH Lappy. You are going to be on Kellogg's crappy list talking about how good team zero is. LOL:eek:

Betsy;)

Did Betsy say something nice about Robby Gordon?

When I saw you post Betsy, I thought for sure this was going to be a swipe at him. ;)

Yes. But Mark said it was one of Jared Landers' cars he was going to run in The Dream.

As long as they continue to do it PPV, they will be using the Fox crew to produce it. Stewart is big buddies with Matt Yocum and uses Yocum's connections to get the gig. That's not going to change any time soon.

DW always comments on something not on camera. That's because they're not following the real action.

I wonder what Toyota thinks about Tony winning with a bowtie on front of car?

Wonder what Tony thinks about winning with a bowtie on the front of his car after all the crappy runs he has had this season in a Toyota?

'yota allowed him to keep his dirt teams and support vehicles as chevy. wondering if they'll regret that soon?

AS far as i can remember i have just seen his late modles with an Chevy Bowtie or Pontiac Areo.

I might of seen a Mopar M on one of his sprint cars a few years ago, but not for sure.

I wonder what Toyota thinks about Tony winning with a bowtie on front of car?

Since there are no Toyota late model (but you can buy a Camry nose for a late model), they probably didnt say much. And besides, his open wheel cars all have bowties on them....along with the big Tony Stewart Racin haulers that cary them all around.

I dont think he could of found a bigger bow tie to go between the headlights on his DLM though lol
He made sure the cameras could see it lol.

And like VaDirt said Toyota doesnt make a racing engine for dlms and traditionally the rules have always been gm engine with gm nose and ford engine with ford nose. I dont know what most guys running the toyota nose have under the hood though.
