President goes to Iraq

President made a surprise viset to Iraq. He had Thanksgiving dinner with about 600 members of the 1st armored div. and the 82nd Airborne div. Only a small handfull knew this was taking place. Considering there were news media on Airforce One. That is a suprise in it's self.

Great moral boost for troops that is for sure, i bet it really frosted all the terrorists after they found out The President of the USA was on their soil! :salute:

I posted a very good story on this in the other thread about it

I have to say, I dont agree with President Bush on lots of things, I dont agree with many of things that have been done, I dont agree with the way the war has been handled so far by the administration and etc. Despite my political and social views, its good to see that someone, in this case our President could take a bit out of their personal time and be there to be with the troops who are away from their families, and this is what Thanksgiving is about. Rarely do I do this, however I commend him for visiting our troops. The entire country is truly grateful to our troops.

Also, there are many troops around the world, their home is probably just a foxhole, their tools their sidearms and M-16s, their thanksgiving dinner just their MREs and their overseas families the men and women they've fought together with, been to basic training with, bled together on the battlefield with. Those troops also are in the country's thoughts and prayers.

The guys over there at Air Force One had to have a lot of testicular fortitude to fly secretly into Baghdad and I would also like to commend them for that. With all due respect to our Brave Generals and leading officers, the troops needed encouragement from a higher force.

He he's gotta an election to win,if they woulda had tank handy,I'm sure the Generals woulda let him drive it around and blow stuff up.

I'm sure it was a good morale boost for the troops,so he gets credit for that.

And yeah I'm really sure that the terorits were reeeeeeeeeeealy scared of King Doofus being there,if he's so tough why was it a secret?

It was a secret because of safty. Would you want them to broad cast around the world so Airforce One would get blown out of the sky. Or maybe the bad guys would dorp mortors on the mess tent and kill 600 people. It was done the right way in secret.

He heard Hillary was going to Afghanistan and had to outdo her. Its all anout the PR. Even though it was secret and no one knew about it till after the fact, it was all for the future election.

good ole george. I am proud to have him as our president. He is really doing some great things here and abroad

I figured you would say something rediculous like that Ironhead and you didn't dissapoint me.

Mo, he's just a bomb thrower.

I knew it would be just a short time and he would be here to trash whatever positive things that could be said about our president.

And this is from the party that calls themselves tolerant but resort to calling others names. It's just hatred....pure and simple. :(

Well look at it this way. Even God himself can't please some people. :D

Yep, they still have to show their true colors.....and its not because Hitlery went to Afganistan. Do you think they actually came up with a plane to go to Iraq in 12 hours? Attempt to use your head for a few seconds...it should hurt too long.

The economy is coming back up and the Dums have nothing to blame on Bush right now. I guess you have to come up with something.....Surprise they haven't said the solar flares were Bush's fault.

I'm sure if the man went to go take a crap some of you people that like to critiize some much would turn that around.

It amazes me that some democrats and i say some, because there are a very few that support the President, can turn things around so quickly to put a spin on it that bennefits their party. Why doesn't the democratic party do something worth while ,didn't see any of them flying into Iraq to support our troops. I will have to admit there was a democrat on Fox this morning that thought what happened yesterday was great, wish i could remember his name. He is the first one from his party that i can recall actually giving the President accolades where they were do. Too bad others of that party can't realize that sometimes giving credit when it is deserved is much better than negativety. :salute:

I have seen a number of Dem. Congressmen surporting the Presdint on his trip, Not all Dems. are as stupid as Kennedy and Dascale (sp)

Oh boy, here come the Bush-supporters and republicans , I mean some of them, not all saying anyone who differs in opinion is a loon and I see a lot of people on racing-forums who cant respect opinions and decide to slug out an insult.

Continuing the modern day tradition of saying anyone who criticizes the President is unpatriotic when if you interpret what is written in the constitution that the first amendment says it's perfectly within bounds to criticize your leaders. I thank my lucky stars in the democracy we have left that we are able to criticize our leaders and that we have that privilege to.

I don't get it ... how this can offer evidence that things in Iraq are better than we think? Nothing's changed...soldiers still die daily...there's still no plan to get them out of there. Bush's response is to feed them turkey? Not much of a response. He benefits a lot more from this than they do in terms of how much response he'll get from the American public come election day.

As for the Democratic/Republican fued, I could care less about both parties. However, it also astounds me how the republicans are labeling Democrats as "traitors, unpatriotic people, etc." when there have been democrats who've fought in Vietnam and wars previous and latter. Quoting Mr. Guido

And this is from the party that calls themselves tolerant but resort to calling others names. It's just hatred....pure and simple.

What about now, why are republican members of the forum attacking anyone who defers in opinion? Answer me that Mr. Guido. Why are the republicans the ones who are calling Democrats "unpatriotic," and why are the republican-favoring members of the forum attacking people who just state their opinion. Call me whatever you want but I think you need to check up on your politics, man. Or do we have to praise Bush up and down like some demigod just to get you to not act like we're unpatriotic?

Last I checked, guys, why is it whenever someone just happens to disagree with something the president does or say, it's "bashing". There is a difference between bashing and disagreeing. I bash Bush quite a bit? Ok....you people beleive whatever you want.

The republicans are just upset cause they haven't gotten thier daily brainwashing by Sean Hannity or the druggie Limbaugh.

First off....... I made my statement because this topic started off by praising what our president did on Thursday in support of our troops. Naturally, there had to be one person here to start off with the bashing by calling him King Doofuss.

I think that you need to open YOUR eyes and re-read the posts in this topic. Who started off with the bashing.

Now, maybe you can also show me where I have stated that democrats are unpatriotic.

Next....... where did I "attack" anyone? I simply made the statement that there is one poster here that has been a constant "bomb thrower". I am sure that there are many others here that will agree with that assesment. He is a basher that adds nothing to the debate.

Continuing on.......... I cannot speak for any of the republican members here. I am neither republican nor democrat. I am unaffiliated and unlike some others that would rather bash than vote................ I have voted in every election since I was 21 years of age not just when I thought "there was someone or an issue worth voting for". I don't need to "check my politics" as you suggest. If you have even bothered to read any of my posts from the past, you would realize that I do not support everything that George Bush stands for nor do I agree with all of his decisions. In fact, I am rather critical about his waffeling on some issues.

Why do I have to answer to YOU as to what anyone else says here? Why don't you just ask them yourself on an individual basis?

Now as to your statement "Last I checked, guys, why is it whenever someone just happens to disagree with something the president does or say, it's "bashing". There is a difference between bashing and disagreeing. I bash Bush quite a bit?" ................

.......... your statement speaks for itself. No further explanation is necessary.

Oh, wow....another profound statement.

The republicans are also upset because they refuse to accept the fact that their hero Limbaugh is a drug-addict while at the same time they've been condemning drug-addicts and putting them in prison instead of giving them help. Hypocrites.... plain and simple.

And this is from the party that calls themselves tolerant but resort to calling others names.  It's just hatred....pure and simple.     :(

As for a couple members here, it's ironic that the Democrats who you say are advocating hape are really the ones that have been advocating for civil liberties, the arts, racial equality, civil rights, better education, better health and more progressive stances.

While the Republicans have been the ones advocating corporate facism, arbitrarily bombing third-world countries without reason or permission from the U.N, pissing off our allies, bombing states and not bombing the real terrorists, dissolving affirmative-action, shunning whoever isnt a Christian and are acknowledging homosexuality as a sickness and not a lifestyle. That is hate, pure and simple, and that's from a party that claims it fights for everyone's rights.

:lol2:

Welcome, RebelMan.......

Have to wonder about a "new" poster that comes aboard 10 minutes after someone posts and then is derogatory towards them.

Looking back over the post. I couldn't help but notice the first person that called anybody a name, also calls himself a liberal Dem. Sad.

Also looking back over the post. Haven't seen a statment or even a hint That Dems. are unpatriotic. Sounds like to me people reads just what they want in a post.

Exactly Gollum seems whenever there is a major issue rather than address the issue they put a spin on it to attack the person or party behind it. I'm so sick of this BS., i almost didn't click on this yesterday to reply to it because i figured something like this would happen, like it did before in a similar post about a month ago. I did though i did because it made me feel proud for my country, proud for my President, and proud to live in this country. I don't always agree with everything the President says, but more often than not i like what he does. I honestly feel that if a democrat were in the Oval Office right now this country would be in a serious world of hurt. Now that the economy is rebounding there is nothing to attack Bush on ,but Iraq. Yeh i know we shouldn't be there....it isn't our war.....we didn't get UN permission....blah ,blah. Ok so Sadam stays i power for another 10,20,30 years, murders a couple hundred thousand more people, supplies terrorist with weapons who kill thousands more....amasses chemical and nuclear weapons which are launched on our soil.......you get the picture. When are the liberals going to wake up? They should of woke up in 1993 when the first attack on WTC took place. Nine eleven was an attack on our country, an act of war pure and simple....there is no other way put it. Retaliating by routing out terrorism is not a crime, it is not illegal, it is just , and it is high time some one had the balls to carry it out! I'm done posting in this section of the board ,from now on it is just in the racing area. I'm tired of all the liberal BS, my appologies if i ruffled a few feathers. (and yes i do respect others opinions, just not those that are pure bashing and have no substance behind them)

I know what you mean. After reading some of the post I regretted even starting the tread. I felt and still do , that the President did a great thing for our Guys and Gals in Iraq. But like I said even God can't please everybody, :( This will be the last post I make on this tread.

I dont know why people are calling rush a republican hero, he just makes observations on facts and spits out his opinion according to the facts. whats the deal?

And which president bombed and aspirin factory in a third world country in order to take the focus off of his own bad behavior?

Your statements proves my point. You are blinded by your loyality to a party of obfuscation.

The mean old republicans are against everything....oh, my!

I am a conservative with libertarian leanings and damn proud of it. I believe in personal responsibility and detest socialism. I guess that makes me just one of those hateful people.

It's really funny. It is the democrats that hurl the hate label at republicans but as soon as it is pointed out that they do the same, they get indignent and pull out the same old tired mantra..

I'm through with this topic too. You and some of the others have nothing to offer in a way of debate. Just the same old tired statements.

Again, I'm no fan of George Bush.....but I appreciate what he did on Thanksgiving and respect him for it.
I thank God that we have a president that is willing to confront and fight terrorism one step at a time. I can only hope that he will continue on however long it takes to get the job done.

Look people, can we take a step back and look at the big picture, this country and the world for that matter is going to hell and it's gettin there fast and if we keep on bickering and arguing on who's right and who's wrong the almighty above is'nt going to able to save us. I just hope my kids and their kids get to live a full life before this world gets obliterated buy dumb-ass leaders think they are trying to do the world good(and I'm not talking about bush, I'm talking about all of them, demos-repubs. and all of the leader of the world) :salute:

I heard on CNN that bush had this trip planned for 6 or 7 months.
