After spending the night in the plush St. Regis Hotel in Aspen, the Pro-Celebrity Charity Ride (PCCR) participants awoke to a spectacular Colorado morning and, after a delicious breakfast, were ready to depart for the day's activities.

First up on Day 2 was a visit to the Silver Lining Foundation ranch just a short journey by shuttle bus away from the hotel. Silver Lining is an organization begun by former tennis star Andrea Jaeger which is dedicated to providing a haven and a retreat for children suffering from cancer. Ms. Jaeger greeted us and provided a guided tour of the facility. This was easily the most memorable and most meaningful stop of the event. The inspired work by Ms. Jaeger and her staff deeply touched all of us who visited.

Upon our return to the St. Regis, the group of Harley riders assembled for our “drivers meeting” for the day 2 ride. The destination was the historic Redstone Castle in the town of Redstone. A gorgeous ride up Colorado 133 culminated in lunch at this unique 100-year-old former home of iron and steel magnate Charles Osgood.

Those who elected not to ride on day 2 relaxed in beautiful Aspen by shopping, hiking, biking or being pampered in the spa.

The evening (and 2-day event) was capped off by the sixth annual PCCR Gala & Auction. Held in the St. Regis's spacious ballroom, the gala was a smashing success featuring both silent and live auctions, entertainment and a fantastic dinner.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a painting of the historic 1967 STP Turbine car to Parnelli Jones. This painting, done live, on the spot by noted motorsports artist Bill Patterson was purchased at the auction and given to Parnelli by Albert Arciero, Bruce Canepa, Mike James and Cam Thieriot. The most uproarious moment of the night was a race on motorized bar stools featuring Oriol Servia, Jimmy Vasser, Michel Jourdain, Jr. and Max Papis. There was no clear winner but a lot of laughs.

Wednesday morning sees the end of this very special event. As the participants head home, they take pride that the motorsports community can come together to help very worthwhile causes. Once again, thanks to Annie & Michael Walker and all the dedicated people who help make this event possible have given us a trip to remember. We all look forward to next year's event.
