Proof that NASCAR just needs to get new fans to the track just once.

Many will catch the bug there. They will feel the power, speed and excitement. Give blocks of tickets that you can't sell to military families and organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts and other youth groups.

This is the second 'Newbie' video in the last month or so. I guess they're good promotion, but the average new fan isn't going to get the full experience given to the people in these videos.

Thanks for the post as it was a fun vid to watch. I would even go back to the track with the treatment they got as it look like a fun day.

There were so many empty seats at Texas the tracks should allocate free tickets to our service men and women and disadvantaged kids and youth plus the Boys and Girls club. Nothing but good could come from this.

Excellent idea. My local short track does that for active military members, so I see no reason why NASCAR cannot do it. I'll also add...give free tickets to anyone who can prove they have donated a certain amount of money (maybe $25 or more) to any of the NASCAR charities.

There is NO reason why NASCAR can't find people like that if there are still seats available. Although they will not make any money from them right away, it can draw in first-timers who will be spending money on the sport in the long run. Not to mention having a packed house will make the sport appear really healthy for the TV audience and that will also create more long term revenue.

The reason I've heard why they don't heavily discount or give away tickets is because, of those who actually do attend nowadays, the tracks make the most money off of the high-end seats and suites who pay >$100 for the ticket year after year in season ticket contracts. If they just give away tickets, even to the cheap seats, it devalues the ticket overall and those upper tier buyers would supposedly be pissed and demand lower prices themselves.

Speaking as a veteran, I'm more than happy with the discounts the tracks offer. I'm more inclined to take friends when I can get us all in on the discount, instead of a freebie for me only and full price for everyone else.
