The way nascar set the filed is stupid. you can turn a faster lap then like 5 cars, and still not make the filed. This is why they should run heat races or something. because when Robby beat around 3 or 4 cars and he gets sent home. when #9 did not make a lap and #31 was slower. Not saying this because of Robby, it is just plain stupid.
 
He'll just be more motivated to make the top 35 in points next year.
 
I agree I think NASCAR should take a look at the way NHRA qualifies. You either make it on time or you go home. Get rid of provisionals.

Hard to get in the top 35 when you are faster then X # of cars, and you still dont make it.

Run heat races, just the top 43 make it, just have 1-2 provs, I really dont think Kanhe should of made it, to make the race i beilve you should have to compliet one lap.
 
it dont matter if you are 37th in points?

It matters if you are 1st, 15th, 35th, 37th or 100th. if you have a car that was faster then someone else, you should make the filed. Kanhe should of went home, and Robby should of started the race.

Robby's average finish this year is 31st, it really wouldn't matter if or where he started.

Kasey, prior to the start of the Kansas race, was 21st in points. So, sorry Lappy, but this isn't the first time this year that a car hasn't made the race for the same circumstances.
 
I dont know about heat races, Nascar is trying to cut time and money that these teams are spending on racing. But I do think they should take the 43 fastest times. Make some of these Big teams get out of their comfort zone when it comes to making the field.
