If you have one of those cork board message deals, where you can put messages, shopping lists,coupons etc please use push pins that contrast to the color of your floor. You can use the ones that are clear but if you drop one they are difficult to see and pick up. But if you walk by with a full cup of hot coffee, bare foot, you will find it. DAMHIKT

Ouch. You have my sympathy. I've done the same -- only on carpet.

That's why I use the huge push pins -- over an inch tall, 3/4 " in diameter --- and in bright colors.

Another thing to remember if you sew --- if you drop a straight pin, you will inevitably step on it -- sooner or later.

Funny --- had a friend on another message board complaining about putting a phillips head drill bit through his finger. Must be something in the air. Or the coffee.
