When asked about Rusty Wallace:

Q: What has been the biggest trouble with getting Rusty Wallace and your race teams working together?

A: There's been team problems as long as there's been multiple-car teams. I think our conflicts come from personalities. [Wallace's] behavior isn't appreciated by some of the members on our team -- including myself.

I don't believe he said that.!! I like Ryan...but..........it's new school, old school stuff...the younger generation just doesn't get it....they haven't had to work so hard to get where they are, therefore, appreciate it less......

All I can say is wow. Rusty is a very well respected driver in Nascar. Ryan could have answered that question a lot different. I'm glad he is in front of Newman in the points and if Ryan stays in the top 10 There wont be any favors from Rusty after that comment. Not that there have been any lately.

JMHO, but I hope Ryan gets his "come-uppance" soon!!!!
He seems to feel that HE is King if the Hill and can do no wrong.

I don't know, nor really care, who said what. But I just bet that Rusty is the type of guy who has no time for anyone who does not do things his way. And not that there's anything wrong with that.

I bet with the 12 team not doing it his way, yet having so much success, kind of burned him.

He never got along with Jeremy either, did he?

He is the senior driver and owner, people have to listen to him. :growl: (In his view)

I think so, anyway. :)

hmmmm, most children think they know more than their parents. Remember the old saying:

Too old too soon.
Too wise too late.

Jeremy also stated recently, that he wishes he would have listened to him.
after all he does drive Rusty's Busch car at times.

Why should he? The issue of respect for the more experienced drivers always seems to come up when a younger driver says or does something involving one of the older drivers. Just because someone has been around longer doesn't make what they say or do anymore right than a guy who's only been around for a few years.

Old guy moves a rookie out of the way...[announcer] "That was a veteran move by _________." Rookie does that...[announcer] "That was a little too aggressive...a little too impatient...bad move...." etc...

I'll bet if the Newman/Jarrett situation was reveresed with Newman taking out Jarrett and Harvick everyone would be slamming Ryan, rather than praising his "old school" tactics (Like Spencer, Burton, Sadler and everyone else seem to be doing with Jarrett) at paying back an earlier transgression.

Same with leveling criticism. I like Rusty, but I get the impression that he would be tough to work with, especially if you don't see it the way he does. Rusty and Ryan are from totally different worlds...but Ryan's approach seems to have worked just fine. Ideally teammates should get along, but obviously they don't and are still having success. We'll see how much a difference team chemistry makes when Busch comes on board.

I like the Ryan pulled no punches when asked about it. You know everyone wants to know why they just can't seem to work together. And now we know why.
