Interesting, looks like only one car goes home. Before you know it, the top-35 deal won't matter anymore.
 
NHRa is already having entree shortages..i think the average fuel car count is 16 or 17 (a few 15 car fields included), while prostock is getting higher.

Tony Raines in the #34 car was also entered, but they didn't practice and withdrew their entry. But that brings back the reason they enacted the top 35 rule. At the time, there were a lot of "field fillers" and of those, few had big time sponsors. NASCAR wanted to protect those big money sponsors, thus they made the top 35 rule, even though I don't think there were 35 full time sponsors at that time. Now it's a totally different story. Some of the top 35 don't have full time sponsors and many of the "go or go home" cars do. :rolleyes:

I'll tell you what, I would be watching LiveNation's IHRA people. This series is going to explode. Plus, it will be the home where I cover my first national event. :D
