Qualifying @ Martinsville

There's no way I could live on that half of the U.S.
Nah, we do have our advantages. Love it here even with the rain, which is something that we haven't seen a lot of for the last two years.

Thought about going up for the truck race tomorrow, then thought about going to Caraway for a big LMS race, but the wife said NO, we're going to the mountains and do some shopping.

Actually, a little bit of the Blueridge Parkway just might be the ticket and we can still listen to the truck race.

Oh, I have family and friends over on that side and it's nice to visit but when I come back to California it makes me appreciate our weather here. I like rain but no more than a couple of days at a time. I like snow, it makes for nice pictures but I have no desire to ever shovel it or deal with it on a regular basis. I LOVE sunshine, though! :D

Why don't they just give up and draw numbers out of a hat every race?

Give this win to Jimmy Johnson. That last position at Martinsville means alot. Unless he has trouble.

It's been a terrible year for racing.

Every other race at MIR was rained out. It somehow always manages to rain on weekends (and not weekdays unless there's a race at MIR).

This is THE wettest year since I moved here and the statistics back that up. It's been a long time since we've gone into October with this amount of rain and now we're approaching the wet season.

Even worse, it's offseason now and the place I go for concerts can't do them inside anymore because of noise complaints.

C'est la vie.

Oh yeah, Southern Maryland still sucks.

My wife's from So. Cal. She likes New England better because the ground doesn't shake:eek:

That's my point.
The sad thing here is that when racing season ends and I'm jones-ing for the smell of high octane racing fuel the weather is still race-friendly...:(

Here in Hampton Roads, we have Arena racing. I have yet to get to a race, but everyone who's been says it's pretty dam good.

And if you're really jonesin' for racing,, there's the Chili Bowl in January, and there are big indoor midget races in Fort Wayne Indiana and Atlantic City (both closer the the east coast...) in January. We also have the Superbowl of Racing and the Winter Nationals in Florida in Febuary.

Rockingham Speedway's also running the Polar Bear 150 on New Year's Day.

Cool.

I assume they run these races at the Hampton Coliseum? :idunno:

I'll have to come down one weekend and check it out. I'll be down that way for Thanksgiving so I might have to check it out.

Usually. It's been in the Scope once or twice.
See you at the Hampton Coliseum for racing then sometime this winter homie?

Also, trying to get press credentials for VMP and Langley. I'm trying to convince RacingForTheWin.com to add a sportsman racing tab.

I have a lot more fun covering sportsman races than covering NASCAR. And I'm burned out with Drag Racing. Same drivers same cars

I would like to see them start backwards. Have the guy 43 in points start 1st and so on all the way to the points leader starts last. That would definitly make for an interesting race.
Dirt track style. I like?
