Question on NBC, NASCAR and war coverage?

Back in 2001, I missed the Charlotte NNC race due to "America At War" when they cut out because of airstrikes in Afghanistan. I'm wondering what the deal would be again if NBC NEWS SPECIAL REPORT interrupts racing coverage (asking because it appears North Korea is settin up to defy the world once more)?

Thanks for any clarification.
