Race Card #45- Bobby Allison's Ford

[LUKE'57]

Not only did Bobby drive a Ford in '71 but he drove a Fairlane instead of the Torinos that the other Ford teams were trying to get to run as well as the aero '69's did a year earlier. While it ran pretty good, the Ford teams pretty much went back to the standard '69 Cyclone bodies for most of the rest of the season because they seemed to work better than the new cars and the Merc was a little faster than the Ford on the superspeedways. With the '71 Fairlane never kitted, here's another fine conversion from my brother Gator.

Have either you or your brother ever built a model of any of the Matador's?

I always sorta liked the old Cam 2 car that Penske fielded.
Didn't Bobby drive that car for a season or two?

Just wonderin' while I'm wasting time this evening.

I think gator's got a Matador and he may have the little Cam2 Hornet modified that Bobby built too.
