Even though Wendell Scott's early races were run in Chevrolets, he came back home to Ford with this '63 Fastback. One of the true unsung heroes he belongs right along side Jackie Robinson. Wendell only won one Grand National race but was shut out of victory celebrations by what was passed of as a scoring error until just about everyone had left the track. The sanctioning body finally got it straightened out after the "winner" had left with the trophy and victory lane was deserted. He was told, "we made a mistake but here's your money. It's our way or the highway. Now go home". Sadly, in that sanction, some things never change. At least back then it was a benevolent dictatorship and not the Three Stooges encounter group that it has become.
