Pontiac and Airlines that is. This is the first downsized car I built and it didn't turn out half bad did it? If I had known Rudd before I built it I probably would have built someone else's ride and that's all I've got to say about that. Would you like a chocolate?

I even did this before the decals came out, what do you think about those sloppy hand painted logos, stripes and numbers?

Luke, I'm a sign painter (in the old days, now it's computerized vinyl lettering and full process color digital printing on vinyl.) and I think that's a great job.

From one OneShot spreader to another, I thank you sir. That fancy vinyl lettering is pretty sharp but it just doesn't have the "heart" of a race car touched by the magic combination of
"skill, quill and OneShot" does it?

It sure doesn't Luke, but I've managed to turn out some pretty stunning stuff using vinyl combined with hand work.

When I hand painted, I loved my work and really enjoyed it. Once vinyl cam in I didn't enjoy it near as much. Besides, gotta love the smells in a real sign shop of yesterday. :D

10-4 on that "stunning" stuff. My little brother does a bunch of models for the local dirt drivers and everytime his friend that runs a "cut and paste" sign shop turns out a new car that he knows my brother will have to repicate in scale (with a brush) he sends him an e-mail with a picture and a "got'cha again" message. They have a ball picking at each other.

I usually just did the local guys that would normally have done it themselves (and you know what THAT usually turns out looking like) and they would let me put my photo service on the car in exchange for the lettering. As a poor boy, working for the local textile family, I have had as many as six cars running at one time. Take that J.D. Stacy. LOL.

I did get to do one for someone you might know. I got to do one for Elmo Langley when Clark Dwyer drove for him at Talladega, fastest sign I ever painted. Clark was an OK guy but they don't come any better and Elmo. Actually gave me a set of keys to the shop so I could come in and finish the car while he was busy elsewhere. Somehow I can't see Hendrick doing that.
