Just gauging interest. Would people like to see it come back next year?

I think if I do it again, every position will score points along with the normal bonus points should they warrant it, just so people dont fall so far behind.

Thoughts?

(except for the fact that Spike always chooses Pee Wee before I can, that is... ;))

You mean like every spot gets points not just the top 10? Yeah that sounds better.
 
Absolutely. I know it has been an awful lot of work for you but it has been fun.
 
It would be nice to see it come back but I'd sure like to see it tweaked as well. It's obvious why it is set up so that if a driver is picked he's not eligible to be selected by another player but that's tough for those of us that can't be on this board 24/7 waiting for the thread to be posted. What if we all got to pick 3 drivers each week and we simply got the sum of their actual points awarded in the race? It wouldn't matter if some of us selected the same driver. I play a game of this type on another board and it works well. Just a thought.

That's pretty much the game that Buck runs now. With some tweaks to the game I'd play again.
 
Tweaks or no tweaks, I'd like it to come back. Simple to play, and I don't have to put a whole lot of time into it.

I'd say yes but the way I would do it is


A driver can be picked by more than one person each week but he can only be picked so many times a year by each person. Say I could pick Kyle 8 times a year and you could pick him 8 times a year......

Wouldn't that be a lot of work to keep track of? Unless someone wants to make a spread sheet or something

It would be a lot of work, keep it simple one driver per week, but when you post the game, post it the same time every week. That way everyone knows when to be here. Sometimes I forget about it or I look for it and it isn't up yet then I go an look an hour later and 12 people have already picked. I say award points to the top 20, first being 20 and count down one from there. Your driver doesn't make the top 20 no points, maybe have a wildcard driver for the big races like Daytona, The 600, Dega, Brickyard so forth. That way everyone has a chance for some points if that driver makes the top 20.
 
What I was considering is a player picks one driver for 3 races. So throughout the year you only make 12 picks but there would have to be some finesse to it because very few drivers have 3 good tracks in a row.
 
It really doesn't matter if someone is allowed to pick the same driver week, after week, after week. Sure someone will take Johnson every week. They'll also lose too at the end of the season. Take Jimmie Johnson for example. He got beat 25 times so far this year.

You sure don't want to do anything that is too much work. Then it's no fun.

I am trying to follow your logic but I do not understand. I normally leave on Sunday evening and teach on Monday and Tuesday. I have made my picks late in the week several times but I am still holding my own.

It is your game but I would try to KISS.
 
I agree with Smoke. Keep It Simple.

If multiple players want to choose the same driver, let them. If you are gonna tabulate points, just let the totals be what the totals are. At the end of the season, the player with the best luck will win.

BTW, what's the prize for winning?????? :D
