Got 2.5" in the old, dusty rain guage yesterday.

Maybe we won't burn to the ground for the next couple of weeks. Really got violent around here at times. Fortunately the worst came BEFORE the football started. LOL

GOOOOOOOO, STEELERS ! ! :beerbang:

I have .19" for the month (yesterday) and .14" last month and .24" the month before.. The poor animals are starving around here...

YES I KNOW!!!!

it often floods out by our math classes (all HS math classes are unconvienently located far from the main building and in a low area), and when i went to geometery today, i asked my teacher what the bright shiny reflective stuff was and she didn't know..had to ask the 2 neighboring classes before we found out it was rain..lol

we have fun when it rains....

Good for you! I haven't seen the sun in almost a week, and there are flood warnings in North-Central GA. Good think I live near the top of a ridge!

TRL, I warned ya we would send some wet stuff your way. LOL

We have had WIND!!!!! Bad, big Devil winds!!! 70mph gusts.
Guess Fontana really got blown nearly apart!!!

As for the critters starving, we put out bird feeders and have bird baths and misters the birds love!!!! Don't have many of any other kind of wild critters here. I do think we have the fattest finches and wrens in the county!!! LOL
Our blue Jays are just as plump too. We keep sunflower seeds and unsalted peanuts in the shell for them. The gardeners tell us they find peanuts everywhere in the neighborhood!!!!! LOL

What are y'alls thoughts about racing in the rain? There is some talk on the other nascar related sites that it may never happen since it is so unsafe with all the hydroplainning and not being able to see through the windsheild. I was jsut wondering what y'all thought about it!

That's a definite NO from the Kat. Current Goodyear tires just aren't capable as they're slicks, and it may be feasable, but too dang expensive. PLUS, no wipers for the windshields, and that's that.
Many other racing series will race in the rain, but I don't believe you'll ever see that happening in NASCAR type vehicles.

well goodyear supposedly has "good" rain tires for watkins glen. They've only been used once, out in japan. I think there should be a test with all that stuff and see how good it really is. Now maybe have wipers on both sides of the windshields, brake lights, headlights, and a decent routinely tested rain tire, it might not be half bad.

oh, note to nascar: instead of using graphics, why not put REAL lights on the cars that REALLY work? Might fix that checking up problem a tad bit (although for the same reason as on the highway, i don't think headlights need to be in the category, unless aimed real low as to not shine in another driver's mirror and blind them)

Racing in the rain. A resounding NO. Nascar does not need it. It would make no sense taking those high HP and heavy cars out on the track in rain. Can you just see them at Dega in the rain. :(
