According to stats from the University of Tennessee Research and Education Center on East Allens Bridge Road, the rainfall deficit was 16.56 inches for calendar year 2007.

at one time i lived about 2 miles as the crow flies from there, we live in Cosby now they say were were down about 14" but close to 25" over the past 2 years

but as others have said here the climate is not changing, hotter summers less rain, global warming is a fickle thing, saw a thing on discovery the other day, it claimed global warming actually could lead to colder longer winters and eventually an ice age. something about the ocean conveyor slowing due to the ice melt

I saw that show or a similar one.
It said for example the Gulf Stream bring warm water from the south across our Eastern seaboard. When it gets to Greenland it begins it's much cooler path south. This can be seen easily on the pic.
If the glaciers melt it could disrupt the flow and make the waters off Europe much colder. This would affect their climate as well. The cooler waters is one of the reasons why London is foggier, damper and colder than Calgary as Calgary is landlocked.
Not to mention the cooler waters reaching the equator will throw off the fish schools. And all types of stuff could happen. This would cause the Earth to cool and the ice packs to advance from Canada to the upper states. The growing season gets shorter. Less food. etc.
Climate, ocean currents, volcanoes, they're all tied together making any predictions as to what our future climate could be. It's not my life style that will cause poppies to grow in Iceland. It's the 4 billion Chinese and 2 billion Indians all wanting to drive SUVs. And even then the effect will not be for decades to come.
