Lets just say there's one less stop sign in town, and my truck needs a new bumper, hood, and grille.....to name the obvious ones. Gauses looked good, but i bent the dickens out of the AC condensor and core support..not sure if radiator is bent (I suspect it may well be)

Damn it, boy --- I ought to come up there and give you a good butt kicking.

You're supposed to keep the truck ON THE ROAD!

Remember --- black is good, green is BAD.

Really glad you're not hurt. But, please be careful. One of these days you might not be so lucky.

it stayed on the black. I'm still not sure if i hydroplaned or not (the road was moist and wet-black, but no standing water), but i went for the brakes, they locked up, went for them again with the wheel turned to point away from the sign (trying to 'set' the front end as they say), it just went straight.....

Again, glad to hear you're OK. Roads that are just barely wet can be treacherous.

Was it your fault this time?
Sorry about your truck. My daughter still misses her Rodeo. (so do I)
unlike a certain driver, I will fess up to messing up. 1. I didn't pump my brakes (too early in the day to rememeber to do so) 2. Underestimated the road and braked where i do when it's dry (no extra lead in....i could have missed the sign by braking about 1 second earlier or so) 3. bald tires don't agree with wet pavement of any moisture level ($500 in tires < repairs from accident)

In the process of sliding, I flatspotted the fronts i'm sure. I checked the right front in the driveway, it's got a definite flatspot and the outside shoulder had a little chunking

the pumping the brakes isn't a problem as much as it could have warned me the road was slicker than appeared. The dually had hydroboost so i jut got used to pumping twice before braking (to build pressure in the hydraulic line) and carried it over to the dakota.

and for those interested in stop signs, the pole is 2" aluminum pipe (or so it looked) and the sign is about 18 guage steel.

Only reason i know is because it went through the hood just a wee bit (think a corner of the sign caught it)

As my dad said, lucky airbags didn't deploy (I couldn't even find the sensors or their wires?) and that it didn't come through the windshield (it went into the near lane of crossing traffic...which people managed to avoid it. I was barely in the lane and the sign took up what I didn't)

ouch! at least the car, looks fixable, is it? I just had someone hit me last week, wet streets were to blame there too. My car is in the shop, should get it back this week, hope yours is repairable and glad you are OK :)

complete list: core support, radiator, AC condensor, hood, grille, bumpercover, tires

immediate list: bumpercover, hood, tires (rest is damaged but working)

meh...its a Dodge... now if you'd been driving a real truck there might be something to get upset over...but that little scrape up makes it look better :D

ya know steve, when ya have a bad push, if ya gas it real hard, it will bring the tail around :D

glad ya didnt get hurt though... BE CAREFULL lol

I was so focused on trying to plant the front of the truck to try and get some grip, enough to aim away from the pole, i have no clue what the back end of that truck was doing. I know from my ears the backs didn't lock up, i don't even know if there was a contact patch between the back tires and the ground.

I'll be getting some sand ballast sacks to help that a little.

Truck is supposted to have 215/75-16 tires. It had 255/65-16's on it, which were pretty much bald.

I just put on 265/70-16's on it with a full 3/8" of tread on them
