Random thoughts about my race weekend at Kansas.

I'll update throughout the weekend:

- Can people not have patience? It rained 2-3 inches yesterday and Hillbilly Bob and his buddies decided that the long line to park was too long. I know! Lets jump the curb and make a run for the front. One problem Bob, when the lots are pretty much mud pits even your 4x4 will have a hard time making it over the hills. Kudos to the brainless dozen or so that I saw stuck.

- Damn, is this place not a smoke free establishment? Yup sure is. I guess people felt like smoking the Winstons they had left over from last year.

- Jr fans, your about as bad as those so called fans that leave the ball game in the 3rd quarter because their team is down by two touchdowns. I'd venture to guess half of the 30,000 that were there got up and left after he was down.

- I saw 4 Jr fans with the following on the front of their shirts: What the hell is wrong with saying S@#T? Very cool shirts.

Looking forward to the next couple of days.

Oh I'm sure you haven't seen nothing yet. The party is just getting started. There is sure to be someone slinging mud all over everything.

Enjoy!

yep same as last year, I'd figured they would stay since jr. qualified and there was about 20 cars still to qualify but nope half the crowd got up and out as soon as he took the hard left, damn people pay 10 bucks a pop and p0ark in the mud just to see jr qualify

Don't know what the parking is like there, but I've been in the parking lot outside Martinsville after the rains and sitting there watching those nuts try to climb those wet and muddy hills is so very fun. I've seen plenty of them slide down sideways into other cars. I always parked far enough away from the upslope of the hills just because of that. As one said before, if you think that was crazy, just wait til after the race. :cuckoo:

- My buddy I went to the race with was a Nemachek fan. Boy did he ever try to defend him.

- Listening to the TNT broadcast on the scanner is a hoot. Those guys just dog each other during the break.

- Benny Parsons was talking to Chad and Jimmy during one of the breaks and mentioned a rumor that NASCAR is thinking about going to a smaller neck on the fuel can so that the time it takes to fill up a car will be longer. This would discourage spending so much money on pit crews as a fast pit stop would not be good if you are still filling up the car with gas.

- Time it took to leave the house and make it to my seat at the track 15 miles away: 1 hour

- Time it took to leave the track and make it back home: 1 hour 30 minutes.

- It needs to be damn cloudy tomorrow. I do not need the right half of my face any more fried then it is. I am thinking about turning around a facing the crowd tomorrow just so that I can get an even tan. :p

Have a great time....Cheer on all the chevy's and Dodges...You can BOOOO Stewart, and both the Gordons THO... AND OFCOURSE ALL THE FORD DRIVERS :XXROFL: :XXROFL:
