Can I just rank the top 10? That's all anyone who is ever competitive anyway.

Should I rank how they are doing this year or rank how they are doing period?

4.Roush Fenway Racing
5.Penske Racing
6.Stewart-Hass Racing
7.Michael Waltrip Racing

MWR #7, really? To each their own I guess...

MWR #7, really? To each their own I guess...

Indeed.

Compared to those others MWR doesn't even chart up. I just added them in because they've done well for themselves the last couple of years and because the rest are just terrible teams.

Ok, fair enough. I assumed the list was ranking teams as of right now, looks like you took a more historical approach.

Indeed I did Yoda.

Of the current and active teams those are more or less the correct ranking correlating to each team.

If we were talking just NASCAR overall than the pictures changes obviously.

Nice troll job.

That's totally serious. JGR has more wins as a TEAM than HMS. Kenseth with 4 and KB with 3. Both are in the chase and Denny may have well been in without his injury. He would have some wins eventually with how competitive he was. HMS is just a Jimmie Johnson show with Khane being feast or famine. Gordon and Jr cant amount to any wins. Kurt Busch has been up front week in and week out. For a one driver team that is a job well done. MWR has Clint safely in the chase and Truex has a win and has been competitive alot this year. Roush has Carl and the Biff in the chase now with one each (okay they could be ranked higher). Penske has been a disappointment coming out of a championship season, S-HR lost my ranking with Newman having a fluke win and Tony being injured. RCR has Harvick... thats it. EGR and RPM have been mediocre at best for a relevant team.

I agree with your rankings although I would challenge that ever since Hamiln got hurt, and Gibbs horsepower being powered down, that Hendrick has been better. Hamiln is running terrible and Gordon and JR for the most part are running for top tens.

Going on THIS YEAR'S performance
1. Hendrick Motorsports
2. Joe Gibbs Racing
3. Michael Waltrip Racing
4. Roush Fenway Racing
5. Stewart-Haas Racing
6. RCR
7. FRR
8. Penske
9. FRM

No way in hell Penske should be that low and Front Row should be that high.

My list for this year

1 Joe Gibbs Racing
2 Hendrick Motorports
3 Michael Waltrip Racing
4 Stewart Haas Racing
5 Furniture Row Racing
6 Penske Racing
7 Roush Fenway Racing
8 Richard Childress Racing
9 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing
10 Richard Petty Motorsports

When Penske can back up the championship with a single win he can go up
Front Row shouldn't have a win with their budget, age, or driver lineup, Kudos to them
Everyone has win(s) but Penske and FRR
FRR has made leaps and bounds with that car this year why I ranked them a bit higher

Guess I'll take a stab at this:

1. Hendrick Motorsports - Jimmie's been in his own league this year, Junior's been consistent, and Kahne has just had bad luck. Gordon looks like he's on a fast train to Jeff Burtonville, but it still wouldn't surprise me to see a win or two from that bunch.

2. Joe Gibbs Racing - Their 7 wins lead all teams this year, they'd be #1 on this list if they were a little more consistent.

3. Michael Waltrip Racing - It's amazing how far this team has come the last couple of years. Bowyer's 2nd in points and Truex and Vickers both have wins.

4. Roush-Fenway Racing - Edwards and Biffle both have wins and should both make the Chase. Stenhouse has had a bit of a disappointing rookie season though.

5. Richard Childress Racing - Harvick has been pretty much it on this team, but I feel he's run strong enough to justify the ranking.

6. Penske Racing - Have run much better than the statistics would indicate, but have been beset by bad luck and penalties. Is it too late to get the Dodges out of the garage?

7. Furniture Row Racing - Kurt continues to impress with The Little Team That Could.

8. Stewart-Haas Racing - Yes, they have two wins, but the top 10 in points have largely been devoid of any SHR cars this year. Danica's been in Davidland (Ragan, Gilliland, Reutimann, and Stremme territory) in points most of the year, and now Tony's sidelined.

9. Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing - Have been running much better than in '11 and '12, but still nowhere near their 2010 form.

10. Richard Petty Motorsports - Almirola and Ambrose 18th and 23rd in points respectively, this team really hasn't been much of a factor.

1 Hendrick..simply the best prepared cars week after week. Have 3 out of four in the chase at this point. no fault of the cars and teams.
2 MWR, the highest ranked Toyota team, 2 out of three in the chase so far. Clint was the highest finishing Toyota last year and it looks like he will be this year also.
3 Penske with one driver in the chase and they continue to get quicker with the slower Fords. I think Penske will finish third behind Hendrick and MWR.
4 Rousch, running with slower cars has two out of three of the regular drivers in the chase. Edwards and Biffle are driving their heads off with an inferior car. Fords have been slow, but rock steady dependable.
5 RCR for a one driver team with two other wheelholders running solidly in 3rd place
6 JGR two in the chase, Kenseth continues to drop and Busch is holding up the team by himself at present.
7 Furniture row. Kurt Busch will take no prisoners and will be in the chase. The team is getting faster with pit stops, and the car is fast every week.
8. EGR. McMurray is a sneaky little fellow, he can jump up and win one. Their cars aren't that bad and some weeks they are fast. Juan might spoil somebodies day, now that the pressure is off.
9 I'll take Yota's definition of SHR in addition that Newman will be in the chase unless somebody takes it away from him with a win. If Stewart can come back next week, that soon which I doubt but...?
10 Petty..Ambrose had car failure and missed his good finish. Petty finally got it and are running him in the N'wide road course this weekend..missed a good opportunity last week not running Ambrose in N'wide. Not to mention transportation fees. Pull your head out king. Almirola..started good, but nothing for a while.

Penske has had bad luck.

FRM's win was nice to see but a fluke.

JGR in 6th & below RCR? Are you high. This is a TEAM poll and RCR can't horse anyone but Harvick. At least JGR has 2 drivers winning races and the 3rd would normally be extremely competitive barring injury.

HMS- Duuuuh
JGR-If not for Hamlins injury theyd be #1.. Kenseth's startin to slack.
Penske- Bad luck, followed by more bad luck and a bunch of top 5's and 10's :s Need more consistency.
MWR- Who'da thunk it? It'll be interesting to see how this team does with 3 full time drivers next season.
FRR- Kurt's carrying this team, and well.. if they had more than one car theyde be further down.
RFR- 2 wins, 2 drivers in the top 10..
SHR- Started slow, got fast, then Tony broke, now it's just Newman... by next week they'll be further down the list.
RCR- I could say the same thing as Kurt.. but there's 2 more cars on the team...
EGR- I liked seeing Montoya compete for a couple wins this season, too bad he didn't get em or maybe he'd have a ride next season.

Also I would like to add that JGR had all 3 cars in the running for the win at the 500, had they not had their typical engine failures they might have even more wins as an organization. I think JGR was the best out of the gate, after they had to detune they took a step back as one would expect and Hendrick caught up. Without JJ though, it's not even close in my eyes.

As usual Harvick is propping up RCR making them look better than they are, they had a good speed weeks and that's about it other than Harvick pulling a couple wins out of his arse.

1) Hendrick Motorsports ----Points Leader, 6 wins and 4 cars in top 13
2) Joe Gibbs Racing---------7 wins, 2 cars in top 10
3) Michael Waltrip Racing--2 wins, 2 cars in top 10
4) Roush Fenway-----------2 wins, 2 cars in top 10
5) RCR (including FRR)----2 wins, 2 cars in top 11
6) Penske Racing------------0 wins, 1 car in top 10
7) Stewart Haas-------------2 wins, 0 cars in top 10
8) Earnhardt Ganassi-------0 wins, 0 cars in top 10, 1 in top 15
9) Richard Petty-------------0 wins, 0 cars in top 10, 1 in top 20
10) Phoenix
11) Germain
12) JTG
13) Front Row
14) TBR
15) BK
16) Fas Lane.

JGR should definitely be second best team right now but I dont get the notion that Hamlin would be any more competitive than he has been this year.

The injury sure its still hindering him but surely not to the point where has been running since.

And before anyone says anything else, Hamlin has been practicing and qualifying his car good so one can only use the injury card so long.

IMO Hamlin would be right around where Gordon is right now.

I believe the question said as an organization? Childress is doing well with only two drivers who have both of their cars Cup and Nationwide placed higher than Gibbs who keeps flooding the Nationwide with full timers Busch and Kenseth, and X Cup full timers Vickers and Sadler. You continually get confused with drivers who win, like it is stick and ball. In Nascar, Wins, you get three more points for doing so. Wins come into play with wild card opportunities, and you get 4 extra points in the chase for each win out of a possible 480 points if you finish in the top ten. The two wild card don't get any chase points for their previous wins. So despite all the hoopla about winning..finishing high consistently can get you there to the championship also.
