Like ToyYoda said I won't rank them all but since Bruton ruined Bristol and Richmond has turned into a snoozer the top 5 order has been shaken up for me.

Darlington

Martinsville

Sonoma

Watkins Glen

Phoenix

The bottom 5:

IMS

Daytona

Talladega

Pocono

Homestead (I don't remember seeing a race from this track but I have read enough from sources I deem reliable to believe it sucks)

6. Darlington
7. Richmond
8. New Hampshire
9. Dover
10. Bristol (used to he right with Martinsville)

Bottom 4 in no order

Bristol was my favorite and I had season's tickets to the night race for 25 years but after Bruton got a brain cramp and decided to ruin it I stopped going. The nice thing about the older Bristol was you were guaranteed a great race but not now.

I agree 100%. I'm only about an hour and a half away from Bristol. I haven't been there for a race since 2002 (those were free tickets). To me, it just hasn't been the same since it was changed to concrete. There were some really good races after the change, but it wasn't the same. Thank God for old races on YouTube.

I couldn't have said it better myself! I recently watched Irvan's first win at Bristol! Great stuff!

Both Dover and Bristol were better asphalt....

That race was a beauty and I miss those days and the atmosphere of the way Bristol was.

What the heck, I gotta do something to stay awake until Iowa comes on. * indicates a track I've been to.

0) Rockingham* - Yeah, that ain't happening.

Under 1.5 miles and road courses. Those I haven't been to, I hope to get to one day.

1) Darlington*
2) Martinsville*
3) Watkins Glen
4) Phoenix
5) Bristol*
6) Sonoma
7) Richmond*

10) Dover

Yeah, we've all heard the drivers say the 1.5 mile tracks are nothing alike from inside the car. From here, they're pretty much interchangeable. I've tossed the 2-milers in this bunch too. I've ranked them in order of the likelihood of my attending a race at them, mostly based on travel availability. I won't feel like I'm missing much if I never get to some of them.

11) Charlotte*
12) Atlanta*
13) Kentucky
14) Chicago
15) Michigan
16) Las Vegas
17) Texas
18) Kansas
19) Homestead
20) Fontana

I would only attend the next two for events that used the infield road courses. I wouldn't go to Talladega if someone else was footing the bill and included tickets, travel, meals, and lodging.

21) Indy*
22) Daytona
23) Talladega

If we're not basing it off the current Cup schedule my top 3 would be Eldora, Road America, and Iowa.

I think the only race I would even consider going to the old fashioned way (buying a ticket and driving) would be Martinsville.

If one of locals told me to be at the airport 5 miles from home and I would be whisked by corporate jet to an airfield close to Pocono and then be taken by helicopter to the track I would turn it down in a heartbeat as I would rather be on the water or out taking pictures.

The best live sport for me is minor league, Junior A or NCAA Div 1 hockey as the games are good and you can get in and out in the blink of an eye. About the only things I am willing to invest time in that involve hordes of people and a bit of time getting in and out are NFL Eagle's games of 'Noles games as home games are a religious experience.

If you're traveling through the south around the time of Martinsville, holler at me and a ticket and a beer is yours!

Plate tracks @ the bottom, short tracks @ the top, still waiting for them to make Bristol Bristol again and then it will be back at #1.

Bristol and then all the rest

I would have to do two rankings. One for being at the track and one for watching on TV. For example Daytona and Talladega would be near the bottom for attending but near the top for TV.

Martinsville
North Wilksboro
Darlington
Watkins Glen
Bristol
Nashville Fairgrounds (the short track)
Rockingham
Sonoma
Dover
Richmond
Loudon
Charlotte
Atlanta
Fontana
Phoenix
The other bastards (1.5 cookie cutters)
Pocono
Talladega
Daytona
Homestead
Michigan
Indianapolis

Martinsville and Martinsville. Best race on the schedule. The friggin' hot dogs are awesome to boot. Too bad Winston doesn't sponsor anymore. I used to come home with at least three cartons of smokes for free.

Couldn't have said it any better.... well, I'd take out Texas and put it at the very bottom with Indy.

I sure agree with the Martinsville picks but awesome hot dogs? Cheap, yes. Tradition, yes. A must if you attend the race @ Martinsville, yes. Awesome, IDK about that. That being said, I'll be having my two in exactly 91 days. That's on Sunday, 2 months and 30 days from today..... But who's counting?

Maybe you went to Daytona and Talladega with the wrong people? I have not had the chance to do either..... yet. I do know one thing though. If/when I go, it's going to be a good time barring some sort of medical emergency during a 'Hold my beer' moment.

Didn't they change hot dog suppliers a year or two ago? They're not the same hot dogs from the old days.
