I'm at work and I'm going through our orders to make sure we got everything we were billed for.

We didn't. Shorted over $250 in milk. So I call the vendor, give them all the codes and explain it's not there. The lady asked me for another set of numbers, I gave it to them and the ****ing ******** line goes dead.

So I call them back and say "something must've happened, I was talking to x and the line went dead." They put me on hold, first lady calls up the manager and says I left the phone (the damn thing cut off mid-sentence). Fortunately, another supervisor was in the room and heard me talking to them and heard me cussing when the line went dead (code for, they hung up on me).

30 minutes later, I call them up again and they direct me to an answering machine (me, WTF?) where I leave a polite message asking them to call us back. They haven't.

I wish I had something I could've shot through that damn phone.

There, feeling better now. :)

So in the end I guess my question is .......Got Milk?

No.

I'm missing about $250 worth of milk.

In my experience Andy, it doesn't do any good to get angry in those situations. You just have to make it clear to them that you will continue to call several times a day until someone fixes the situation. It's not easy to keep your cool in those situations, but it helps a lot when they see you as a professional person simply seeking restitution rather than a whack job who may be trying to get something for nothing by shear force.
