Rapper buying into Truck team

Funny, the article doesn't even mention Junior.

So the guy enjoys racing. I say let em come.

The article doesn't need to mention Jr. Jr's the only driver I know all over MTV and in MTV videos etc.

Well, don't know what to tell ya. We need wealthy individuals to field teams, and Nelly fits the bill.

I do not even know who Nelly is. Is he a she or vice versa.

Jr has only been in 1 music veido that i know of. Cheryl Crows video, Which is mainly played on VH1 not MTV. Jr has only been on 2 other Mtv shows. The MTV Music awards and the Cribs show. So I don't think Jr has been all over MTV.

If Nelly Like racing and is serious about feilding a team the more power to him. Plus he also said that he would like to get a minority into the truck, i think that is a good idea!! I hope Nelly does good with this team!! Hey with Nelly joining the team it has just helped another truck team from having to close its doors.

A little more flashy than I would like, but I do not see how it is a terrible thing.

I guess its allright with me if Nelly were to buy over a team, but I dont really think he really needs or wants one, I may be wrong though!

Damn straight Lets have some good rock singer from teh 70's or so own a team

alice cooper co-owns a ARCA team. i wish nelly the best of luck, but his pockets are not deep enough to be in it for the long haul IMO

I recall that Jeff Gordon hosted a show on MTV a little bit ago, maybe he influenced Nelly ;) I havent seen any reference to Jr or Gordon in the articles that I have read about the co-ownership deal in Craftsman truck. I saw a couple references to the man's love of racing and I think it is great that he carried that over to becoming an owner.

Bill Lester may have played a big role in that deal, perhaps unknowingly. He has been widely accepted into the ranks of truck drivers, Crew Chiefs, fellow drivers and fans alike have said that he has a great attitude and has earned a lot of respect. It very well may be that he, Willie Ribbs and Carlos Contreras are opening some eyes in marketing and ownership markets amongst minority groups. Cool!

When I told my teenage boys that Nelly was gonna get involved in the truck series...they said "Tight!" I guess that is good :D

Rappers love flashy vehicles and have the $$$. (always amazed as to the amount of money these people make) This is more bragging rights than anything as far as I see it. Easy come, easy go.

I think he is part owner in the #27 BGN car, not the Arca car!!! The racecar is sweet!!!

Maybe he'll lower it, put some spoked wheels on it, have his driver slouch behind the wheel and drive real slow around the track with the bass cranked way up. That'd be cool.

That is great for him. I'm not a fan of Nelly's music, but I think that if he is investing his money into the sport he must be serious.
