Rate Kansas Cup

I did what I always say I am going to do: Watched the last 20 laps, so my rating therefore is of the last 20..

Meh, I fell asleep a few times. Nice to see I was right about Jr. not being able to stay in the front.

Honestly, I think the Sprint Cup series need more medium to short track races. These super speedway and large speedways like Kansas are boring.

I give it a 6. There were some moments of good racing, but enough.

Glad to see Junior had the dominate car early until the bad pit stop and engine problems.

Overall this was a snoozer of a race: 4, and it's lucky to get that.

I am with you the last 40 laps was pretty exciting. Watching Tony pull away to the win, while cheering for Mark to get past Ruetiman and Kahne was great. Too bad Martin didn't beat Kahne.

I give Jimmie and Chad a 10 for screwing up the last pit call for 2 tires.WTG!!!

I'm just glad Mark is still in the lead for the Chase. I hope he wins.

First, I didn't even watch the race from the start. First thing I did was turn on my DVR'd race from Williams Grove last night. After a while, went ahead and turned it on.

0.1. How boring does a race have to be for me to play the DVR'd F1 race from Japan? I'll tell ya, because that's exactly what I did.

About mid race I switch over to watch Naam on New Yankee Workshop build a table I've watched him build at least twice before,,,,:)

And to think, next week they race at Southern California.

I wish I had the money to go to Rockingham for the weekend.:(

5 There was some good racing at times and I enjoyed the last 20 laps. I didn't almos snooze in the middle. :D

Agree with the above...2

Wow, you must have been drunk, stoned, or both to think that the F1 race from Japan was better than Kansas. Even the most boring NASCAR race is far more exciting than anything F1 can offer.

Let's compare stats:

F1 Japanese GP:
0 lead changes
Podium finishers ended the race the same order they started
Sebastian Vettel was 5 seconds ahead of 2nd place at the finish
Vettel stayed alive in the Championship, but just barely

NASCAR Kansas:
14 lead changes
6 of the top 10 finishers started the race outside the top 10
Stewart won the race less than a second ahead of 2nd place Gordon
Championship opened up now with 6 drivers within 100 points of first

There really is no comparison. Although I think it's cool F1 is racing again in Suzuka, this was the same old boring F1 racing. In F1, the only interesting things happen off the track: drama queen prancing around, teams cheating, drivers being fired, etc.

But once it comes time to put up or shut up, F1's got nothing in the sack. The best they can do is put on 50 parade laps, and then spew their propaganda about how they're the "greatest form of racing in the World." By "The World" they really mean Europe. And by "the greatest" they mean "slightly more entertaining than curling."

Formula 1? More like Formula Fail.

While i appreciate your entusiasm for all things motorsport, I do have to say that your negativity towards F1 goes a bit overboard, IMO. And quite frankly, I can add that there are a LOT of people out there in the world that can (and do) believe that NASCAR racing in the ovals is nothing more than guys driving around in circles.

And one thing, you seem to overlook that different people find different thigs to like (or dislike) about different forms of racing. Sure, F1 has it's problems, but racing doesnt' just have to be about the number of lead changes. Yeah, I like lead changes, but can enjoy a race like F1 by putting myself in that mindset.

Oh, and the championship? Sure, you can say that the championship in Cup has been opened up wide, in reality, it wouldn't be even close except for a couple drivers had the point not been reset because of the new chase format. I also need to remind you about the last 2 F1 championships were decided by a single point. And if button has yet another week like he's been having, and score only one (or no) points, it could come down to that again.

So to say that I was drunk or stoned to enjoy the race, well, you don't know me at all.

Dirt,

Needless to say, I think you're getting bent out of shape over nothing.

My comment about "drunk and or stoned" was done in jest, which for whatever reason you clearly misunderstood. This is an Internet forum, and nothing here should be taken seriously. Especially coming from me.

Anyway, back on topic: as my knowledge of the F1 race and happenings within the sport would clearly suggest, I still like F1 enough to at least casually keep track of it.

I mildly enjoyed the Monaco and Singapore GPs on an "eye-candy" sort of level, but it's not racing. Sure, F1 has a lot of problems, but my complaining about them doesn't make me a hater. In fact, it probably makes me more of an F1 fan because I like the sport enough to ***** about it going in the wrong direction.

I think they're wasting what could be an excellent racing series. If anyone here is drunk and/or stoned, it's the FIA.

I'd have to agree on the F1 comments, such boring racing . I love the cars and all the technology, but come on ,to say it is exciting is really stretching it. There is hardly ever any passing on the track most if not all takes place in the pits. There is so much to do about what tire compound to use...blah blah blah, give me a break give them one tire, let them race. All this crap about blocking too, what the hell?! Blocking is part of racing, don't let the other guy by unless you are extemely slow. The guys on the other side of the pond always get their knickers in a bundle over this, just don't get it. As for Kansas it ranked right up there with F1, maybe just a slight bit more exciting.

You know this is rate the race...not rate the winner:rolleyes:

Yes! I really enjoyed the race. There was a lot of great racing and some simply cool pit strategies. No tire issues and no rain made it better. The 11 came because of the winner. The 10 was a result of the race. JPM and Montoya had some interesting moments. Junior lead some laps which was way overdue.

But I would rate a couple of blue hairs at WalMart trying to get to the checkout first with their carts a ten if they were bumping each other.

OK, an impartial vote. I will give it a 4.

I did have an hour nap duting the middle.

Nice to see Jeff have a good run and still be in contention. He needs to win a race or two. Maybe Martinsville and Talladega.
